Replace the stringly-typed infra-control path with an InfraContainer enum
(Ci/Forge/Gateway/Matrix). The variants are the allowlist: serde rejects any
unknown or unsafe name (hive-c0re has no variant) at the wire boundary, so
hive-priv no longer needs a root-side SIBLING_CONTAINERS.contains() check on
ControlInfraContainer — the type enforces it, and 'the daemon can't stop
itself' is a compile-time guarantee.
- priv_proto: InfraContainer enum; manual Serialize/Deserialize + FromStr +
unit_name() all key off one mapping, so the wire form ('hive-ci', …) is
unchanged and there's no drift. ControlInfraContainer.container: String ->
InfraContainer.
- hive-priv / priv_client / server.rs: thread the enum; scoped_infra returns
Vec<InfraContainer>; the control handler uses unit_name().
- agent_server: the infra_admin restart gate parses the name via FromStr
instead of a slice .contains().
- SIBLING_CONTAINERS stays (validate_container_name/_system_name still use it
for journals / general container validation); a test keeps the enum and the
slice in lockstep.
Per review: RESTARTABLE_INFRA_CONTAINERS and the new CONTROLLABLE_INFRA_CONTAINERS
were near-identical subsets of SIBLING_CONTAINERS. Drop both and validate infra
lifecycle ops against SIBLING_CONTAINERS directly (all four infra containers;
hive-c0re is never in it, so it can't stop itself). This also makes hive-matrix
restartable, including via an infra_admin agent's restart tool.
Collapse the two priv ops too: RestartInfraContainer is gone; ControlInfraContainer
{ action } is the single op (restart = action: Restart). priv_client's
restart_infra_container is now a thin wrapper over control_infra_container.
Follow-up to the audit-log backend + surface. Emits a DashboardEvent on
each agent-initiated privileged action so the audit view live-appends off
/dashboard/stream instead of polling.
- new DashboardEvent::AuditEntryAdded { seq, <flattened AuditEntry> } —
serde tag `audit_entry_added`; the AuditEntry fields flatten to the top
level so the wire shape matches one /api/audit-log `entries` row exactly.
- Coordinator::emit_audit_entry helper (stamps seq like the others).
- audit_log::record now returns the canonical inserted AuditEntry (id + ts
assigned) so the streamed event is the same row that was stored — no
drift. Best-effort unchanged (None on a sqlite blip).
- handle_restart_infra records + emits for every attempt (ok/err/denied),
threading the coordinator through.
Tests: kind_tag round-trip now covers the new variant; added a flatten
test pinning the top-level wire shape (kind/seq/id/…/detail, no nesting).
Pairs with iris's audit view (the /dashboard/stream listener half).
Adds a durable, operator-visible audit trail of privileged operations
hive-c0re performs on behalf of an agent — the ones that cross the
agent/operator trust boundary. First entry: infra-container restarts via
the infra_admin-gated `restart` tool, which until now were recorded only
as a hive-priv journal trace.
Backend:
- new `audit_log` module: sqlite-backed store (audit_log.sqlite, same dir
as build_logs) with schema (ts/agent/action/target/outcome/detail),
best-effort `record`, `list_recent` (clamped 500), 90-day `vacuum`, and
a process-singleton handle mirroring build_logs.
- Coordinator opens + installs the handle; main spawns the hourly vacuum.
- agent_server::handle_restart_infra records every attempt (ok, error, and
capability-denied) via the global handle — best-effort, never fails the
underlying action.
- dashboard: `GET /api/audit-log` returns recent entries as JSON.
Scope is deliberately agent-initiated privileged actions only (not every
PrivRequest — token writes + nspawn edits are constant lifecycle noise).
Extensible: future agent-initiated priv ops record via the same handle.
Unit tests cover record/list ordering, the 500 clamp, and retention vacuum.
The dashboard *surface* (an AUDIT view consuming /api/audit-log) is a
frontend follow-up coordinated with iris.
Clean the legacy backlog so the tracker-tag lint can become a required
gate (mara's warn-during-cleanup -> full-tree-enforcement path). Rewrite
the ~33 real `closes/see #NNN` provenance refs in doc-comments to prose
across hive-forge, hive-c0re, hive-ag3nt, hive-matrix-mcp, hive-sh4re,
and add a `lint:allow` line marker to check-issue-refs.sh for genuine
non-tracker `#<digits>` (a hash-digit heading-detection test input).
Tree is now lint-clean; tracker-tag lint ready to promote to required.
Add RemindersChanged SSE event so the pending-reminders list in the
SYST3M tab updates live without polling.
Backend emission sites (every path that mutates the reminders table):
- agent_server: store_remind (remind MCP call)
- dashboard.rs: post_cancel_reminder, post_retry_reminder
- questions.rs: cancel_loose_end Reminder kind
- reminder_scheduler: after each delivery batch (any_delivered)
Coordinator gets emit_reminders_snapshot() mirroring the existing
emit_schedules_snapshot() pattern: lists PendingReminder rows from the
broker and emits DashboardEvent::RemindersChanged.
Frontend: applyRemindersChanged(ev) calls renderReminders(ev.reminders)
and is registered as reminders_changed in MUTATION_HANDLERS.
Docs: dashboard.md reminders_changed entry; CLAUDE.md file map updated.
The privsep drop to the hive-core user left four journalctl -M <container>
call sites shelling out directly. -M enters the container namespace via the
machine bus, which needs root, so all container-journal reads failed with
Permission denied. Add a ReadContainerJournal verb to hive-priv and route
dashboard get_journal, manager get_logs, the rebuild-failure journal tail,
and the agent host-journal -M path through it. Host-journal reads (no -M)
stay direct via systemd-journal group membership.
Add `hivectl gateway {create-user,delete-user,list-users}` subcommands for
managing htpasswd files used by gateway Basic auth. Pure Rust bcrypt
(cost 12, $2y$ prefix nginx accepts). No external htpasswd binary required.
Also fix the NixOS module assertion: `cfg.auth ? htpasswdFile` is always
true in the module system (declared options always exist as keys); switch
to `nullOr path; default = null` + `!= null` check so the assertion
actually fires with a useful error when enable=true but no file is set.
Guard bind-mount and nginx config against null to prevent eval errors.
Update docs/gateway.md to show hivectl commands instead of raw htpasswd.
All crates now pass `cargo clippy --workspace -- -D warnings` cleanly.

per mara's review on #433, move the gating from the dashboard into
the host so a stopped container's stale on-disk state (rate_limited
sentinel, hyperhive-needs-login, last-turn-stats row, status blob)
never reaches the wire in the first place. when build_all sees
is_running == false:
- needs_login → false
- ctx_tokens / context_window_tokens → None
- rate_limited → false
- status_text / status_set_at → None
static / declared fields (extra_links, deployed_sha,
pending_reminders, needs_update, parent) stay populated regardless
of run state.
extend AgentMeta (both AgentResponse + ManagerResponse) with a
`running: bool` field so get_agent_meta callers can tell whether
the target is up — answers the second half of #432 ("agent meta
should probably show the info that it is not running as well").
read_agent_status_live wraps the existing read_agent_status with
the same is_running gate so the manager/agent socket handlers don't
have to know about sentinel semantics.
format_agent_meta now prints a `running: yes|no` line so claude
sees the run state in plain text alongside hyperhive_rev.
frontend follow-up in the same commit: drop the redundant
`c.running &&` guards on ctx_tokens / status_text in
renderContainers — the backend now guarantees those fields are
absent when the container is stopped, so the existing
truthy-check is sufficient. the `■ not running` badge + icon /
links fetch short-circuits stay (those are pure presentation /
network-noise wins the backend can't address).
Surface reminder activity statistics (scheduled, delivered, pending counts)
for each agent over configurable time windows. Needed by the per-agent
stats page to display reminder metrics.
Adds:
- ReminderStats struct and ReminderRollup request/response variants
- Broker::reminder_rollup_for(agent, since_secs) method
- Agent and manager socket handlers for the new RPC
- SocketReply mapping for response conversion
