5235166bb3 docs: name the matrix host options by their new path
Every prose and error-message reference to the moved options, including
two in hive-c0re/src/matrix.rs that omitted the services. prefix and so
read as the per-agent option. An error that names an option the operator
cannot find is worse than no hint.

1a0cb0fb44 docs: name the swarm display name by its new path
Two sites spelled it as a brace group, services.hyperhive.{hiveName,
swarmName}, which no anchored rewrite can handle correctly now that only
one of the two moves; both are written out separately. One of them is an
MCP tool description, so it is rendered into every agent's system prompt.

ddc017f01b wip(#3001): convert tests off the container id; drop Source + insert_group
The last of the DAG-container removal. `tests.rs` navigated by the id
`submit` returned, so removing the container removed the tests' way of
finding what they inserted; they name the roots they assert on now, which
is the same handle production uses.

Three findings the port surfaced, each a behaviour change rather than a
test fix:

- Cancelling a rebuild's head no longer drops the job. `Reconcile`'s edge
  accepts a skipped brace, and a cancel-cascade skips rather than cancels,
  so the tail stays claimable. Dropping a job means cancelling every id the
  insert returned.
- A directly-cancelled group root reads terminal while a spared tail still
  runs; the cancel used to land on a node above it, which rolled up
  Finishing instead.
- "One DAG per hive-wide op" is not expressible without a container. The
  three tests asserting it now assert that every named root is top-level,
  which is what makes the per-agent subgraphs concurrent.

Deletes two tests: one asserted only that two containers get distinct ids,
the other re-ran an existing case under a second name.

`Source`, `insert_group` and the stop path's `reason` string went dead with
the container and are removed with it.

02e916feee wip(#3001): power chains name their group roots
The `*_many` entry points returned `insert_job`'s result while their closures
ended in `Vec::new()` — naming nothing, so the returned id list was always
empty. `queued_dags` would have shipped `Some([])` and hivectl's wait loop would
have had nothing to poll. Silent: it compiles, the op still runs, and no test in
isolation looks.

Each `*_chain` now returns its group root's guid and the `*_nodes` collectors
gather them, so the ids a caller gets back are the roots it can actually wait on.

`start_chain` returns *four* in the stale branch, not one: `rebuild_nodes`
chains its roots behind `SetWanted` with `after_ok` rather than nesting them
under it, so `SetWanted` rolls up only itself. Naming it alone would have
reported the start complete while the rebuild was still running — the same
under-reporting bug one level down.

f04a0cee92 wip(#3001): convert remaining unblocked call sites; sweep docs
21 of 28 non-test call sites now insert directly. power.rs compiles.
The only remaining errors are server.rs's 5, which are blocked: those
sites feed the returned id into HostResponse::queued -> `queued_dags`,
a wire field hivectl polls via QueueDag. Removing the container without
answering that breaks hivectl's wait/progress loop; asked on the issue.

Also swept the deleted symbol out of prose, not just code:
- docs/coordinator.md: "the submit layer (job_queue/submit.rs)" ->
  the power layer (job_queue/power.rs), and "submits" -> "inserts".
- templates.rs module doc: points at super::power for the power ops.
- lifecycle_ops.rs module doc: says which path each op takes now.
- mod.rs's insert_group comment restated the open issue verbatim
  ("a DAG is addressed by its container node, which submit inserts
  itself"). Replaced with what is actually true for that path.

Dashboard behaviour deltas worth review: insert failures are now
logged per agent instead of swallowed, and UPDATE-ALL emits one queue
snapshot after the loop rather than one per agent.

7c0d9d2379 wip(#3001): remove submit layer, rescue power ops into job_queue/power.rs
TREE IS RED ON PURPOSE — there is no compiling intermediate between
deleting submit and converting every caller. Checkpoint commit so the
work is durable; do not "fix" it by restoring submit.

Done:
- JobQueue::submit -> JobQueue::insert (no source/reason/container;
  returns the ids insert_job names).
- submit.rs deleted. Its 6 pure chain builders + 3 async *_many
  gatherers were NOT wrapper code and are rescued into
  job_queue/power.rs (templates.rs documents power ops as living
  outside it, because their shape needs a live is_running read).
- Converted: meta_inputs 1, topology 2, permissions 3, auto_update 2,
  actions 3, lifecycle_handlers 3.
- Dropped source/reason at every converted site: nothing ever read
  NodeKind::Dag's fields (only `{ .. }` matches exist), so they are
  write-only. Dead reason-only locals deleted; the boot sweep's summary
  became a tracing::info! rather than being lost.

Remaining: dashboard/lifecycle_ops 7, server.rs 7, and the test suite —
tests.rs has its own submit() helper whose u64 return is used as the
handle to navigate the inserted DAG, so those need a different way to
find nodes, not a mechanical port.

730c923a97 docs: stop asserting DagView/NodeView after their deletion
The deletion PR removed the types but left ~10 sites still describing
them. Two are real breakage rather than staleness: rustdoc intra-doc
links to deleted items ([NodeView::kind] and [Self::snapshot] in
job_queue/mod.rs). Neither clippy --all-targets -D warnings nor cargo
test resolves intra-doc links, so the tree was green with both already
dangling.

The rest reassert facts the deletion made false: docs/coordinator.md
documented the event as RebuildQueueChanged { seq, queue: [DagView...] }
with a per-node field list, and three sites pointed at the removed
/api/state.rebuild_queue endpoint.

One is pointer rot rather than a rename, and no grep for a deleted name
finds it: SchedulesChanged justified itself as "same snapshot-shape
rationale as RebuildQueueChanged" -- which the deletion turned into the
one event that is not a snapshot. Repointed at TombstonesChanged /
MetaInputsChanged, in both the Rust doc and the dashboard doc.

Two are pre-existing and strictly out of scope, swept under the
pfadfinderregel because the same grep surfaced them: hive-sh4re/README
advertised a jobs module that crate has not had since the host-sock
split, and hive-host-sock/README claimed its own payload types live in
hive-sh4re.

Docs and comments only -- no behaviour, no API, no test changes.

f707c60f90 jobq: delete DagView/NodeView, the second projection of one graph
Two views of the same graph existed: the typed `DagView`/`NodeView`
(`/api/state.rebuild_queue`, the `QueueDag` socket request, and the
`RebuildQueueChanged` payload) and `hive-jobq-wire`'s generic
`GraphNode` (`/api/jobq/graph`, `QueueNodes`). Every consumer has moved
to the generic one, so the typed pair is deleted rather than kept in
agreement with it.

What that removes, beyond the types: the `QueueDag` request and
`HostResponse::dags`; `Queue::snapshot`; `dag_view`, `visible_dags`,
`shown_on_wire`, `dag_finished_at` and `containers`; and the
`rebuild_queue` field on `/api/state`. `RebuildQueueChanged` keeps its
seq and loses its payload — nothing read it, and shipping the graph
both on an event and on an endpoint is the duplication this issue is
about. It stays an event rather than becoming a poll because
push-on-change is what every other live surface here does.

Two behaviours came out simpler for a structural reason. `await_dags`
needed two rules — settled means "gone from the snapshot" *or* "present
with every node terminal" — because the typed view evicted finished
groups; the generic view doesn't, so pending is just "some node isn't
terminal". And `state_of` in the tests no longer derives a roll-up at
all: a group root's own state is the scheduler's answer.

That second one found a bug. `cancelled_dag_still_runs_its_approval
tail` asserted the group reads `Cancelled` while the tail it exists to
protect was still pending — `rollup_state` flattened the surviving
child away and called the group settled. The root reads `Finishing`,
which is what the scheduler documents: own logic done, children still
running. The test now asserts that, with the reasoning inline so it
doesn't get "fixed" back.

Kept: `Source`, `State`, `PermPayload` and the `NodeId` alias in
`hive-host-sock::jobs` — shared vocabulary, still used by hivectl.

9e7a2002d1 jobq: a generic per-state roll-up, served beside the graph
A consumer that wants "how much is in flight" — a summary line, a badge,
a health check — had to fetch the whole graph and tally it client-side,
on every poll, in every consumer.

`hive_jobq_wire::state_rollup` counts `roots` and their subtrees by
state, straight off a `Graph<N, R>` with **no bound on either
parameter**. A node's state is a scheduler concept, so counting by state
needs to know nothing about what the payload or the resource are;
bounding it like the projection does would make a host implement two
display traits to be allowed to count, which is a requirement about
rendering imposed on arithmetic.

It takes the roots for the same reason `wire_snapshot` does — which
groups are in view is the host's policy, and nothing is ever removed
from a graph — so passing the same set makes the roll-up describe
exactly the graph beside it.

Each entry carries BOTH counts: `nodes` (the whole subtree) and `roots`
(just the group tops). One rebuild is ~7 nodes and 1 root, so a summary
meaning *operations* and one meaning *steps* are different numbers over
the same queue, and picking one here would make this crate decide what
counts as a job — the domain question it exists not to answer. It
reports both structural facts; the viewer chooses.

A pair, not a map: JSON object keys are strings, so a map would spell
the state twice and give the wire no ordering. Every state rides with
its zeros in a fixed order, so a consumer can index positionally and
never handles a missing bucket. Tallying positionally against
`ALL_STATES` means a new upstream `State` fails the exhaustive match in
`state_index` rather than silently landing in an existing bucket.

hive-c0re serves it at `GET /api/jobq/rollup`. The queue-side method is
a call site, not an implementation: it supplies the lock and the same
`visible_roots` as `graph_snapshot`, so the summary cannot describe a
different visible set than the graph it summarises.

7ef0e8c788 jobq: key transient tombstones per pill, not per agent
Deletes `TransientState`, adds `transient_kind` to `TransientCleared`, and
fixes a crash misreport — three changes over the same functions.

`TransientState` was `RunningTransient` with `agent` dropped and
`takes_container_down` renamed; that rename was the only thing it did, and
its three consumers each read a disjoint subset. `transient_snapshot` now
returns `RunningTransient` directly.

`recent_transient` was keyed by agent alone and overwritten on each clear.
An agent can clear several pills in one grace window, so a `Prebuild`
(`takes_container_down = false`) landing after a `StopForUpdate` (`true`)
left the tombstone reading `false` and the crash watcher reported a
deliberate stop as a container crash. Keyed by `(agent, label)` now, with
`recent_transient_within` folding back per agent by OR — the same question
`crash_watch` asks of the active set.

`TransientCleared` gains the label for the same reason: a client holding
two open pills for one agent could not tell which one a clear referred to.

The out-of-band suppression guard has no node and so no label; it uses
`NO_NODE_LABEL`, angle-bracketed to stay out of the `NodeKind::as_str`
namespace.

6a8a729f58 fix(#3020): K3PT ST4T3 says what it shows, and stops reading the job graph
`build_tombstone_views` folded `transient_snapshot`'s keys into its `live`
set, so an agent with in-flight transient work was treated as not-a-tombstone.
Since #3010 that set is derived from the running job graph, which made a
page about on-disk state a function of the scheduler.

Dropping the filter exposes what was always true underneath: nothing records
a destroy. Every definition-side artifact — state subvolume, proposed +
applied repos, `deployed/0`, meta registration, topology entry — is written by
`Provision` before the container exists and survives `lifecycle::destroy`. So
a mid-spawn agent is byte-identical on disk to a tombstone.

Per mara on #3020: remove the filter, warn on the page, keep the issue open
for the swarm-controller / snapshot-storage rework where the problem shape
changes anyway.

- dashboard/tombstones.rs: drop the param + the chain; document the real
  semantics
- core.js: amber caveat banner above the rows; row badge `destroyed` ->
  `offline`, which is what an absent container actually proves
- dashboard.css: `.tombstone-warn`, modelled on `.port-conflict` but amber and
  without the pulse — a permanent banner that pulses trains you to ignore it
- docs/web-ui/dashboard.md: the pane was described as "destroyed-but-state-kept
  agents", now the exact wrong claim

8ce265fdf0 jobq: a transient is any running node naming the agent
Per mara on #2822: status is the only test. The agent comes off the
node's own payload rather than a declared Resource::Agent edge, so the
lease-exempt kinds (Prebuild, MetaSync) that name an agent without
holding its lease now light a pill — they are work on that agent.

Dropping that test breaks the one-pill-per-agent invariant, since
lease-exemption is exactly what lets one DAG build for an agent while
another holds its lease. Everything keyed by agent alone had to follow:

- reconcile_transients keys (agent, label) via TransientSeen, so a
  second pill cannot evict the first — and cannot lose its
  takes_container_down, which the crash watcher reads at clear time.
- transient_snapshot returns a Vec per agent for the same reason. The
  collapse was silent: a Prebuild could evict a StopForUpdate and its
  deliberate_stop, making an intentional stop report as a crash.
- crash_watch asks whether ANY running node expects the container down.
- the dashboard renders one row per node instead of one per agent.

takes_container_down never reached the frontend; no wire change needed.

315 tests pass unchanged.

3512e4b019 dashboard: hide forge links instead of guessing <hostname>:3000
Adds services.hyperhive.forge.publicUrl (defaults to the gateway vhost
URL when behindGateway=true, null otherwise). HIVE_FORGE_PUBLIC_URL is
now sourced from it instead of hardcoding https://${forge.domain}
whenever behindGateway is on.

The 4 frontend call sites that built a forge link from
state.forge_public_url now hide the link when that's absent, rather
than guessing http://<browser-hostname>:3000 — a guess that's only
correct by accident once the operator isn't on plain localhost. Fixes
the dashboard H0M3 tile, per-agent-row forge links + agent menu, the
approval-queue PR link, and the per-agent page's own meta-nav forge
link (found during this pass, same defect, not in the original
3-site inventory).

Docs + doc-comments updated to match.

fe0906c043 jobq-wire: name every outcome, keep the enum spellings, document the schema
Three things, all from review:

Accepted outcomes were built from a hand-listed [Done, Failed, Cancelled,
Skipped] array. Exhaustive today, silently short the day someone adds a
variant — the new outcome would vanish from every edge that accepts it.
BitFlags::ALL asks the type instead.

TerminalState carried rename_all = "snake_case" while its sibling State did
not, so one enum shipped "done" and the other "Done". A rename is a second
spelling of a name that then has to be kept in agreement by hand; both now
serialise their variant names verbatim. Nothing else reads TerminalState off
a wire, so no consumer moves. GraphDep's tag values likewise.

The endpoint documented its body as serde_json::Value, which tells a spec
reader nothing. hive-jobq-wire now derives ToSchema. State and TerminalState
are foreign types here and utoipa stays out of the scheduler crate, so the
schema points at local mirror enums. A mirror that drifts is worse than none:
the conversions are exhaustive (a new upstream variant fails the build) and a
test asserts each documented name equals the serialised one, since an
exhaustive match still compiles when only the spellings diverge.

7966d5eb66 jobq-wire: move the generic graph projection into its own crate
The wire types were in hive-host-sock, which is the host *socket* crate — so
anything living there is core-shaped by construction, and the projection had
quietly grown two core dependencies to match: it selected roots by matching
NodeKind::Dag, and rendered payloads through free functions in hive-c0re that
nothing obliged a second host to write.

hive-jobq is the wrong home too. That crate is the scheduler — logic — and
folding presentation in means every consumer of it carries a JSON vocabulary
it may never serve.

So: a new hive-jobq-wire. A host implements WireNode for its payload N and
WireResource for its resource name R; GraphWire::wire_snapshot is
blanket-implemented for Graph<N, R> when both hold, and for nothing else. A
payload that has never said how it displays has no way onto the wire.

wire_snapshot takes the roots to serve rather than reading Graph::roots
itself. Nothing is ever removed from a Graph, so retention is a policy only
the host can hold; hive-c0re passes visible_roots(), which is the existing
MAX_HISTORY_DAGS bound selected structurally (a root is a node with no
parent) instead of by node kind.

f357f98867 c0re: serve the jobq graph generically at /api/jobq/graph
`graph_node` projects a `hive_jobq::Node` onto the wire type from the
parent commit: everything the crate records, with hive-c0re's own fields
(`agent`, `approval_id`, `inputs`, `build_log_id`) collected into the
opaque payload slot instead of standing as named columns. A node with
nothing domain-specific to say serialises no `data` key at all, so the
slot costs nothing when it is unused.

`graph_dep` turns a `DepWhen` into the set of outcomes that satisfy the
edge by asking it about each of the four terminal states, rather than
leaking the bitflags representation onto the wire.

`Resource::wire_name` gives the resource vocabulary a string form —
hive-jobq is generic over the resource type, so a viewer that renders any
graph cannot be handed this enum. The `agent:` prefix keeps per-agent
leases from colliding with a global resource sharing an agent's name.

`graph_snapshot` deliberately reuses `visible_dags` for retention: every
live group plus the newest terminal ones. Serving the raw graph would
grow without bound — evicted groups' nodes linger until bounded pruning
lands. Within a retained group nothing is filtered: group roots ride as
ordinary nodes, and `Done` nodes stay, which is the projection defect
behind the "rebuild shows a single node" report.

The endpoint lands in the same commit rather than after it. Without a
consumer the whole projection is dead code, and a wire type nobody
produces cannot be reviewed for whether it says the right things.

Its OpenAPI body is `serde_json::Value`, matching `api_state`: no type in
`hive-host-sock` derives `ToSchema`, and that crate stays dependency-lean
on purpose.

77cc7bea6b refactor(#2949): the build-log row carries its node id
`QueueInner` was `{ sched, node_rt }`, where `node_rt` held exactly one
datum per node: the `build_logs` row id. It existed because a `hive_jobq`
node payload is immutable after insert while the log row is created when
the build starts — so the link could not ride the node.

Invert it: the log row names its node (`build_logs.node_id`, one migration
in the existing `schema_versions` framework). Same single-home property,
in the direction the type system allows.

`QueueInner` is now just the scheduler. That is the point: the queue holds
no per-node side map, so nothing has to be locked alongside the graph.

Deleted as a consequence, each surfaced by dead-code analysis after the
edit above rather than predicted:

- `NodeRuntime`, `node_rt`, `set_build_log_id`, and `build_log_id_of`
  (which linear-scanned the map to match a wire `u64` against opaque
  `NodeId`s). The lookup is an indexed query now.
- `struct Ctx`, entirely. It carried `coord` + `dag_id` + `node_id` into
  the executors so the build-log callback could reach the queue; without
  the callback, `coord`/`dag_id` were never read and `node_id` was already
  on the `Claim` both executors receive.
- `QueueInner::node_running`, which existed only for `set_build_log_id`'s
  "only while running" guard.
- The `Fn(i64)` callbacks on `prebuild_toplevel` / `swap_update` /
  `priv_run_inner`, replaced by a `node_id: Option<u64>` passed down. The
  id travels one way now instead of being registered back.

`meta.rs`'s `nix_logged` passes `None` deliberately: its callers reach it
from outside the queue as well as inside, and nothing reads the link for
them yet.

`id_for_node` takes `MAX(id)` rather than assuming uniqueness — a retried
node opens a second row and the panel wants the current attempt. The test
moved to where the behaviour lives and covers that, plus survival across
completion and non-collision with node-less rows.

947d45a854 hive-c0re: fix stale ApiDoc doc comment claiming routes are undocumented
Follow-up from #2872: the comment said 'the rest of the (much larger)
route table below is undocumented for now' -- that was true when the
annotation sweep started, not anymore. Trimmed to state the current
fact plainly instead of narrating the sweep's history (mara: is that
level of detail relevant here) -- this is a plain rustdoc comment on
ApiDoc, not part of the actual OpenAPI JSON (that comes from the
separate #[openapi(info(description = ...))] attribute below it), so
keeping it terse and mechanical is the right call.

ec30277a90 hive-c0re: drop redundant METHOD/path prefixes from OpenAPI summaries
Swagger UI's endpoint-list row already shows the HTTP method badge +
path for every row, so restating `METHOD /path` at the start of a
handler's own summary is pure duplication. Strips that self-referential
prefix from every summary that has it and re-capitalizes what follows
as a standalone sentence.

Left two false positives untouched: misc_api.rs's operator-inbox
summary cross-references a *different* sibling endpoint
(mark-all-read) for context, and topology.rs's SetParentForm struct
doc happens to mention its endpoint's path but isn't a handler summary
line. Both are legitimate, not redundant.

071dbd774c hive-c0re: split OpenAPI summary/description, move param docs to params
utoipa splits a handler's doc comment on the first blank `///` line:
everything before it becomes the OpenAPI `summary` (shown in Swagger
UI's collapsed endpoint-list row), everything after becomes the
`description` (only shown once that row is expanded). With no blank
line, the whole doc comment becomes the summary and the description is
empty — which is what every handler in hive-c0re/src/dashboard/ was
doing, so the all-endpoints list showed full multi-sentence prose next
to every route instead of a short one-liner.

For every `#[utoipa::path(...)]`-annotated handler across the 19 files
in that module:

- Inserted a blank `///` line after the first short sentence/clause so
  utoipa's split produces a real summary + description, where the doc
  comment had more to say. Left already-short single-clause docs alone
  (nothing to split).
- Where a query struct derives `IntoParams`, moved param prose that
  duplicated a field's own doc comment out of the handler doc (the
  field already documents itself in the generated spec), or added a
  field doc where the handler explained a param that had none.

No behavior changes — doc comments and `params()` description text
only. Verified `cargo build -p hive-c0re` (clean) and `nix fmt` (zero
changes) after.

f457d9ce7b hive-c0re: drop utoipa-swagger-ui, serve openapi.json directly
Swagger UI itself is nginx-hosted now (iris's 86a39c4c), so c0re
carrying its own vendored copy via utoipa-swagger-ui was a straight
duplicate — dropped the dependency (root Cargo.toml + hive-c0re's),
swapped the SwaggerUi::new(...).url(...) mount for a plain
/api/openapi.json GET route serving the same OpenApi doc as JSON.

Verified: cargo build/clippy/test -p hive-c0re clean, Cargo.lock
dropped utoipa-swagger-ui + utoipa-swagger-ui-vendored with no other
changes, nix fmt clean.

884e39ba63 refactor(#2815): derive the transient snapshot, don't mirror it
mara on !2910: "why is set_transient still a thing if it completely
derives from nodes?"

It was still a thing because the scheduler mirrored the derived set into
a stored map that every consumer read — derived state computed once and
then cached, with the reconciliation loop existing only to keep the cache
honest. `transient_snapshot()` now derives: `running_transients()` off the
live graph, with the handful of entries that have no node behind them
(destroy, migration) overlaid on top. There is no cached copy left to go
stale or disagree with what is running.

`set_transient` / `clear_transient` split by what they actually do:
`set_manual_transient` / `clear_manual_transient` own the stored map for
the no-node callers, and `emit_transient_set` / `emit_transient_cleared`
publish the edges both paths need.

Two things had to survive, and both are edges rather than state:

- The dashboard's `TransientSet` / `TransientCleared` events. The
  scheduler carries the previous derived value and emits the diff.
- The crash watcher's grace window. `recent_transient_within` answers
  "was a transient cleared just now?", which is what stops a deliberate
  stop from reading as a crash on the next 10s poll — a derived read of
  current state cannot answer it, so the clear still stamps. The
  scheduler keeps `deliberate_stop` alongside the label precisely so it
  is available at clear time: the node it came from is, by definition, no
  longer running to be asked.

`TransientState::since` becomes wall-clock and, for derived entries, is
the node's own `started_at` — the true start of the operation rather than
the moment a watcher first noticed it, which is what the old
guard-creation timestamp actually measured.

`running_transients` returns a named `RunningTransient` rather than a
4-tuple; two of its fields are strings and one is a bool whose meaning is
not guessable at a call site.

Note for anyone reaching for a timestamp here: chrono is vendored with
`default-features = false`, so there is no `Utc::now()`. The workspace
convention is `wire_time::now_unix()` / `from_secs()`.

Checked with clippy (`--all-targets -D warnings`), `cargo test -p
hive-c0re -p hive-jobq` (322 + 41 passed) and `nix fmt`.

d3d73b5ffb refactor(#2815): derive the transient pill from the running node
The dashboard pill was declared once per DAG at submit time, so a rebuild
reported `rebuilding` for its entire life — through the prebuild, the
stop, the swap, the tail and the reconcile. It named the intent of the
request, not what was happening.

It is now read off the nodes actually running. A node lights a pill when
it is `Running` and declares the agent's own resource. Declaring is the
test, not targeting: `Prebuild` and `MetaSync` name an agent but are
lease-exempt on purpose (the container keeps serving), so they must not
light one. It is also not the lease *owner* — `resource_state()` answers
"who holds the slot", which is a different question from "what is
running", and a descendant that borrows an ancestor's grant never
appears in that map.

`TransientKind` is gone entirely rather than being re-derived. The label
is the node's own wire tag (`NodeKind::as_str`) — the same vocabulary
`NodeView.kind` already ships, so a pill and a DAG node name an operation
identically and there is no second taxonomy to keep in step. Work with no
node behind it (destroy, migration) supplies its own literal.

`DagSpec::transient`, `Claim::transient`, `DagMeta::transient` and
`NodeKind::Dag`'s `transient` field all go with it.

## the safety half, which is deliberately not the display half

`crash_watch::is_deliberate_stop` used to match a `TransientKind` to
decide whether a vanished container was intentional or a crash. That made
a pill's display vocabulary decide an alerting question, so renaming or
adding a label would silently move the alerting boundary.

`TransientState` now carries two independent fields: `label` (rendered,
nothing branches on it) and `deliberate_stop` (read only by the crash
watcher). The producer sets the second, because the producer is the only
thing that knows — it is not recoverable from the first.

For queue work that value is `NodeKind::takes_container_down()`, and it
is emphatically not "holds a lease": `Create` and `Start` hold the
agent's lease exactly like `Stop` does, and a container dying *while
starting* is a real crash that must keep reporting as one. The default is
`false` on purpose — a wrong `false` costs a spurious crash event, a
wrong `true` swallows a real crash silently.

## known cost, accepted on the issue

A restart no longer reads `restarting`. No `NodeKind` is unique to a
restart — `restart_chain` reuses `Signal` / `StopForUpdate` / `Drain` /
`Reconcile` — because "restart" is a property of the DAG's shape, not of
any node. A restart now reads `signal` / `stop_for_update`, then the
agent returns.

`Start` / `Stop` / `PostSwap` run inside a lease-holding ancestor and
re-declare nothing, so they light no pill and the agent reads idle for
those windows. Closing that is the resources-where-constructed work
(#2818), not this change.

Checked with clippy (`--all-targets -D warnings`), `cargo test -p
hive-c0re -p hive-jobq` (321 + 40 passed) and `nix fmt`.

eb557ee3c1 refactor(#2908): cancel a node, not a DAG
`JobQueue::cancel(dag_id)` resolved the id to a `NodeKind::Dag` container
and cancelled that. But the container lookup was the only DAG-specific
part — everything that makes cancel work already lives in the scheduler:
`cancel_node` marks the node `Cancelled` and cascades to its pending
descendants, sparing any node whose edge accepts `Cancelled` (which is
what keeps a dropped approval DAG from dangling its row).

So `cancel` now takes any node id. A group root cancels the whole group,
which is what the dashboard's button does today and why nothing about
its behaviour changes: a DAG id *is* its root node's id. An interior
node cancels just that branch — a capability the DAG-scoped version
could not express, covered by the new test (a hive-wide restart drops
one agent's subgraph while the other keeps running).

`QueueInner::node_by_id` replaces `container()` here: same search, same
cost, without asserting the node is a DAG container. `container()` stays
for `first_error` and the append-subgraph guard, which are genuinely
DAG-scoped.

No wire change. The route is `POST /api/rebuild-queue/{id}/cancel` with
a `u64` path param — same type, same route, and the client keeps sending
the same number. Only the param's documented meaning moves from "DAG id"
to "node id".

Checked with clippy (`--all-targets -D warnings`), `cargo test -p
hive-c0re` (322 passed) and `nix fmt`. No option surface touched, so no
nix-eval gate.

4c37ce9150 dashboard: consolidate NodeView.has_log into build_log_id
Per mara's review on #2896: has_log: bool was fully redundant once
build_log_id: Option<i64> existed alongside it (has_log was always
just build_log_id.is_some()). Dropped has_log, threading the single
Option<i64> field through job_queue::mod.rs, the hivectl NodeView
test-helper literal, and the one remaining frontend consumer
(findLiveBuild's live-log-panel gate, which now checks
build_log_id != null instead of the separate bool).

Also fixed a now-stale doc comment on GET /api/build-log/{node_id}
that claimed the dashboard used on-demand node-id fetches "instead
of an inline build_log_id on the wire" -- no longer true after this
PR put one there for the BUILD L0GS deep-link.

cargo build/clippy/test clean across the three touched crates; nix
fmt clean; frontend build verified (0 has_log references, 3
build_log_id references in the built builds.js bundle).

761f4b8351 dashboard: surface the hive's hyperhive rev on the H0M3 start page
Adds hyperhive_rev to the dashboard's /api/state StateSnapshot,
resolved via the same current_flake_rev helper get_agent_meta's
per-agent hyperhive_rev already uses. home.js renders it next to the
existing hive-identity line, truncated to the last 12 chars with the
full value in title=, hidden when the flake ref isn't a local path pin.

Requested by annika (infra.run) via dmatrix, hyperhive#2854.

e8e6998ac5 refactor(#2756): replace the DAG terminal hook with real tail nodes
The queue carried a per-DAG `HookKind` that fired an inline side effect
from outside the graph when a container rolled up terminal. mara asked
three times why this could not be an ordinary node; the answer in the
code was a doc-comment claiming a node could not work, and it was wrong.

`DepWhen::AfterAny` already existed with two live users, and a weak edge
is satisfied by a `Cancelled` dep, so a tail node runs on success,
failure and cancel alike. What was genuinely missing was smaller than a
hook: a node had no way to learn how the work it followed ended.

So: `Claim` now carries `deps: Vec<DepOutcome>`, snapshotted at claim
time from the graph the scheduler already holds (no `hive-jobq` change).
`Claim::deps_state()` / `deps_error()` roll that up, and two new kinds
consume it — `ResolveApproval { approval_id }` and `EmitRebuilt { agent }`.
Templates append one as a group-root with `AfterAny` edges onto the DAG's
other group roots; a root's state is its subtree's roll-up, so that
covers every node without fanning out to each of them.

Deleted: `HookKind`, `DagSpec.hook`, `NodeKind::Dag.hook`, `DagMeta.hook`,
`TerminalDag`, `terminal_dag()`, `terminal_summary()`, `dag_agents()`,
`dag_rollup()`, `fire_terminal_hook()`, `run_terminal_hook()`,
`emit_rebuilt()`. `complete_node` returns `()`.

Load-bearing details:

- `JobQueue::cancel` spares tail nodes instead of cancelling the whole
  subtree, and returns `bool`. Without this a cancelled approval DAG
  would dangle its approval forever — the hazard `tests.rs` already
  named. The spared tail's deps are `Cancelled`, which satisfies its weak
  edge, so the scheduler claims it and it resolves the row as cancelled.
  `hive-jobq` anticipated exactly this: `cancel_node`'s doc already says
  to settle afterwards so "a weak-edge terminal node observing the
  cancellation" can advance.
- The existing `complete(container)` call after cancelling is kept and is
  deliberately a no-op when a tail was spared (a non-terminal child parks
  the container back in `Finishing`), so power ops still settle
  synchronously with no branch.
- `DeployTail` is NOT `is_tail()`: it does real compensating work, and a
  cancelled DAG has nothing to compensate.
- `exec::failure_reason` falls back to `first_error(dag_id)` because a
  group root that rolled up `Failed` from a child carries no error of its
  own — without it every tail-reported failure would lose its reason.
- `EmitRebuilt` is per agent, so a multi-agent DAG reports each agent's
  own outcome rather than painting all of them with the DAG roll-up.
- `ResolveApproval` is agentless: the approval row already names its
  agent, and that is also what lets one tail close a multi-agent DAG.

Transients-derived-from-running-nodes and the frontend's node-kind
strings stay out of this change; they touch iris's slice and review
better next to their own diff.

de09628c7c fix(#2733): write the agent pause marker via hive-priv
`Coordinator::set_paused` wrote the marker directly with `std::fs::write`
from hive-c0re, which runs as the unprivileged `hive-core` user. The
agent's harness dir is chowned to the agent user on every container boot
(`user.nix`'s activation chown), mode 0755 — so hive-core can stat the
marker but gets EACCES creating or unlinking it. Pause therefore only
ever worked on an agent that had never booted; the read side works
because a stat needs traverse, not write, which is why the paused pill
and `is_paused` looked healthy.

Route both directions through hive-priv, the root helper that already
owns the other writes into agent-owned directories:

- `PrivRequest::SetAgentPaused { agent_name, paused }`, with the marker
  filename constant moved to hive-priv-sock. That is the narrowest crate
  all three sides share (hive-priv deliberately does not depend on
  hive-sh4re, which re-exports it for the in-container resolver). A
  private copy on any one side would break pause silently, since every
  reader just sees "no marker".
- `write_agent_state_file` generalised to `write_agent_dir_file`, taking
  the target directory: `state/` and `harness/` are both agent-owned,
  which is the same reason both need root.
- resume unlinks via `remove_file`, which acts on the leaf and never
  follows a symlink — an agent could otherwise plant a link at the
  marker path and have root delete an arbitrary file.

`Coordinator::set_paused` becomes an async round-trip; its three call
sites were already async. Both directions stay idempotent because the
dashboard toggle and `hivectl pause|resume` fire without reading the
current state first.

6c9bf2012f dashboard: show and edit per-agent resource limits in core LOAD tab
Adds CPU/memory cap columns and an inline edit form to the container-load
table in /core.html, backed by a new POST /api/resource-limits/{name}
dashboard endpoint.

## Backend (hive-c0re)

lifecycle_ops.rs — new post_resource_limits handler:
- Parses ResourceLimitsForm { cpu_quota, memory_max } (both optional; empty
  string = clear override, fall back to hive-wide default).
- Validates each non-empty value via resource_limits::validate_cpu_quota /
  validate_memory_max — returns 422 UNPROCESSABLE_ENTITY with a human-
  readable message on invalid input so the dashboard can surface it inline.
- Calls meta::commit_resource_limits (staged git write under META_LOCK, same
  as hivectl set-limits).
- Re-applies the drop-in immediately via lifecycle::write_dropins so the new
  ceilings take effect on the next container start without waiting for a
  rebuild.
- Triggers rescan_containers_and_emit so ContainerView.cpu_quota/memory_max
  update via SSE without waiting for the next periodic sweep.

dashboard/mod.rs — registers the route:
  POST /api/resource-limits/{name}

## Frontend (core.js + system-sections.css)

core.js:
- containersState derived from /api/state snapshot alongside tombstonesState
  — supplies configured cpu_quota/memory_max to the LOAD table.
- lastLoadRows stash lets SSE-triggered re-renders call renderContainerLoad
  without waiting for the next 5s poll.
- renderContainerLoad: adds cpu cap / mem cap columns (muted; tooltip
  'configured ceiling — takes effect on next start') sourced from
  ContainerView, plus a per-row S3T toggle button that expands an inline
  edit form with cpu_quota / memory_max text inputs and a S4V3 button.
  The edit form shows a restart hint, surfaces validation errors inline, and
  collapses on success.
- container_state_changed SSE handler: updates containersState in place and
  re-renders the LOAD table so the cap columns flip immediately after a save.

system-sections.css:
- CSS for the new cap columns (.cload-cap-th, .cload-cap) and inline edit
  form (.cload-edit-row, .cload-edit-form, .cload-edit-label, etc.).
- Remove dead .rqe-step rule (step sub-step label retired from the wire in
  'job_queue: retire the now-off-wire step sub-step label').

59041d4f03 feat(dashboard): add paused badge and pause/resume toggle to agent cards
When ContainerView.paused is true, show a clickable yellow `⏸ paused`
badge on the agent card that POSTs to the new /api/resume/{name} endpoint
to un-park the turn loop. The badge doubles as the resume button so the
state is self-documenting and one click to fix.

The agent action menu gains ⏸ P4US3 (when not paused) and ▶ R3SUM3
(when paused), orthogonal to the running/stopped start/stop actions.

On the backend, /api/pause/{name} and /api/resume/{name} POST routes
wire to Coordinator::set_paused and trigger an immediate rescan so the
badge flips via the existing SSE ContainerUpdate without polling.

Depends on the ContainerView.paused field and Coordinator::set_paused
added in the parent PR.

52dd9ede23 feat(#2591): add GET /api/build-log/<node_id> {,/raw} query endpoints
The raw-graph wire drops the inline build_log_id; the client fetches a
node's captured output on demand. Two handlers resolve node id -> log-row
id (JobQueue::build_log_id_of, now keyed by the wire u64) then delegate to
the existing get_full / raw handlers: /api/build-log/<node_id> serves the
BuildLogFull JSON ({stdout, stderr} + header), /raw serves text/plain.
404 when the node has no linked log.
