The frost variable was defined only in the removed flow stylesheet, so its
fallback always applied. The messages page header no longer points at the
flow page.
appendLinkified had one caller, the flow page, and it pulled in the
path-link and file-preview chain, the side-panel singleton, the marked
and DOMPurify wiring and the css only they used. The docs stop
describing the dashboard side panel and the client reading file_refs.
The flow page showed the raw broker message stream and had a compose box.
This removes the page and its bundle, its link in the pages menu, and the
styles only it used.
The history endpoint that backfilled it and the operator-send endpoint
behind the compose box had no other caller, so they go too, along with
the broker query behind the history endpoint. The stream endpoint stays:
the dashboard tabs still subscribe to it.
The docs lose the FL0W section and the references to the two endpoints.
The dashboard's top-of-page warning banner is gone. The warning registry
stays, because /health/ready, the swarm status view and the OTEL gauges
read it. What it feeds is now alerted on in Grafana:
- hyperhive.hive.warning{kind,level}: one series per raised warning, so an
alert names the cause. Raising a warning also logs one `hive warning
raised` line with the message.
- hyperhive.hive.nix_store.utilization: the used fraction of the nix
store's filesystem, probed in the gauge callback.
- Alerts: hh-hive-degraded on the existing degraded gauge, hh-hive-warning
per kind (disk excluded), hh-host-disk-high at 85% and
hh-host-disk-critical at 95%.
- pending_logins is now a registry warning, refreshed from the container
rescan, so it reaches the per-kind gauge.
Frontend: server_warnings leaves the state snapshot, and the dashboard,
flow and stats pages keep only the sticky chrome wrapper. The shared
hive-warn and WarnBanner components stay, since other views use them.
A module-eval case checks each alert's metric name against the exporter's
source, so a rename on either side fails the build.
The composer's suggestion list stayed open for as long as the line started
with a name that matched an agent, so typing "@iris hello" left it showing.
Enter then accepted the highlighted suggestion (a no-op once the name is
complete) and returned without sending; the message only went on a second
Enter. The list now shows only while the cursor is still inside the leading
@-token, so Enter sends as soon as the message has started.
Drop the H0M3 tile hub and the core page. The dashboard is now the index;
kept state is its fifth tab. A pages menu in the chrome links flow, stats,
API docs and the swarm UI. The swarm apex URL comes from
services.hyperhive.swarm.domain via HIVE_SWARM_PUBLIC_URL and the new
swarm_public_url field of the state snapshot.
mara on #5170: "dont split caps and perms. its all perms. / dont include
the now empty tool groups / nothing set -> default / also add perms to
agent creation screen".
- hive-sh4re: one `Permission` enum (messaging, meta, inbox, execution,
web_tools, manage_root_agent) replaces `ToolGroup` and `Capability`;
`lifecycle`/`forge` are gone. `Permission::default_for` is the default
for an agent the swarm sets nothing for.
- The record is `{ "permissions": [...] }`. Missing key, unset field or
no successful read yet = default; `[]` = none; a failed read after a
good one keeps the last value.
- hive-agent reads its own key every 10s and builds each turn's --tools,
--allowedTools and MCP config (rewritten before every turn) from it;
the subagent daemon reads it on each start/continue. Agents get a
read-only grant on their own key.
- hive-c0re restarts an agent only when its manage_root_agent changes.
The import now merges meta/capabilities.json and meta/tool-groups.json
into one list per agent and deletes both; the "import pending, don't
read" decision is `ImportOutcome::read_allowed`, table-tested.
- swarm-controller: `GET /api/permissions` (names + default) and an
optional `permissions` on `POST /api/agents`, stored before the job is
queued. swarm-ui's create-agent form gets a permissions field.
- Deleted: HIVE_TOOL_GROUPS and its forward to the subagent daemon,
tool_groups.rs, ruth's tool-group seed, the permissions rebuild job
(PermPayload/WritePermFile/perm_change), the dashboard permissions tab
and its stale-entries panel.
Part of #5170.
An agent's capabilities move from the hive's meta repo
(`meta/capabilities.json`, injected as `HIVE_CAPABILITIES`) into the
`capabilities` field of its key in a new `agent-permissions` KV bucket,
which swarm-controller alone writes.
- swarm-queue-client: `agent_permissions` (bucket, key, `AgentPermissions`,
direct-get read, the import subject and its wire types).
- swarm-controller: creates the bucket at start; `GET|PUT|DELETE
/api/agents/{name}/permissions` (deny_unknown_fields and unknown
capability ⇒ 422, duplicate ⇒ 400, agent must be declared by a hive);
answers each hive's one-shot import, writing a key only where there is
none and only for agents that hive's wanted state declares.
- swarmctl: `agent permissions get|set|clear`.
- swarm-nats-auth: a hive reads every key of the bucket and sends its
import on its own subject; the controller subscribes to the imports and
may answer them (`responses`).
- hive-c0re: reads each of its agents' keys every 30s into
/var/lib/hyperhive/swarm-agent-permissions.json and restarts an agent,
gracefully, when its capabilities change. Unset is the compiled-in
default (ruth: manage_root_agent; everyone else: none). A failed read
keeps the stored value. On first boot it seeds that file from
meta/capabilities.json, sends the grants to the controller, and deletes
the file once the controller answers.
Deleted: the capabilities.json reader/writer, `HIVE_CAPABILITIES` in the
rendered meta flake, ruth's capability seed, the capabilities half of the
permissions rebuild job (`PermPayload::Capabilities`/`Combined`), the
dashboard's capabilities table and `capabilities_changed` event, and the
now-unused `Capability::description`.
Part of #5170.
The swarm lives in the swarm UI; this tab lists the hive's agents. The tab
is 4G3NTS at #agents, its pane and count pill follow, and the module that
renders the containers is agents.js. Comments and docs that named SW4RM or
swarm.js follow.
The build lifecycle used to be its own page with three sub-tabs. They are
now dashboard tabs (rebuild, meta, buildlogs) beside SW4RM and
P3RM1SS10NS: builds.js is a module tabs.js imports, so the dashboard's one
tab strip, /api/state snapshot and event stream (plus the meta_inputs_changed
and meta_update_running kinds) serve them, and the page, its bundle entry,
stylesheet and home tile are gone. The SW4RM banner's "view queue" link
points at the #rebuild tab, and the rebuild tab carries a count pill of the
rebuilds in flight.
An empty tab-count pill drew a "0": its display beat the UA [hidden] rule.
The cpu, memory and disk figures are exported as OTEL metrics and graphed in Grafana, and the caps are set in the swarm UI, so the C0NT41N3R L04D tab on the C0R3 page only duplicated both. C0R3 is now the kept-state page alone, without a tab strip.
Scheduled prompts live at swarm level (swarm-controller's
/api/schedules, `swarmctl schedule`, the swarm UI's /schedules page).
The hive dashboard's SCH3DUL3S tab only listed the rows left in
hive-c0re's `scheduled_prompts` table so operators could copy them
over; the operator confirmed everything is migrated.
Removed:
- the SCH3DUL3S tab, its pane, schedules.js, its CSS (including the
`.rqe-source*` rules, whose only emitter was schedules.js) and the
hub tile's "schedules" entry
- hive-c0re's GET /api/schedules and the `scheduled_prompts` store
(with its v1 column migration and test)
- hive-sh4re's `schedule` wire types, which only that route used
- docs describing the tab, the route and the two tables
The rebuild-queue cancel route that shared the module moves to
dashboard/rebuild_queue.rs under an OpenAPI tag of its own.
The two sqlite tables are not dropped: nothing opens them any more,
and persistence.md says they can be dropped by hand.
Closes#4916
Agents reach the operator over matrix now (#5115). A `send` to
`operator` is refused, by the broker and by the MCP allow-list check,
with an error that names the matrix MCP tools. The dashboard's Y3R C4LL
tab goes with it: the operator inbox, `GET /api/operator-inbox`,
`Broker::unread_for_recipient`, and the browser notifications that only
ever fired on operator-bound messages.
The harness no longer posts turn failures and plugin-install failures
to the operator inbox. Both are already logged at warn; a new Grafana
rule, `hh-agent-turn-failed`, fires per agent on the harness's
`turn failed` line.
Dashboard-to-agent messaging (op-send, the agent web UI's message box,
mark-all-read for agent inboxes) is unchanged.
Decisions per mara on #5115: q1 a, q2 a plus a grafana alert, q3 keep
dashboard-to-agent messaging and leave swarm-level code alone.
Logs live at swarm level now (VictoriaLogs, read through Grafana
Explore). The hive dashboard's own journal viewer goes, with
everything that existed only to serve it:
- frontend: /logs.html, logs.js, logs.css, the H0M3 "Logs" tile and
the per-agent menu's "journal logs ->" link. The build-log list
rules BU1LDS used from logs.css move into builds.css.
- hive-c0re: GET /api/journal/{name} and GET /api/journal-host, and
priv_client::read_container_journal.
- hive-priv / hive-priv-sock: the ReadContainerJournal request, its
JournalQuery/JournalOutput wire types and the journalctl -M executor.
- nix: hive-c0re's systemd-journal supplementary group, whose only
reader was the journal-host handler.
- docs: the L0GS section, the API entry and the security table row.
Closes#5113Closes#3819
The disk sampler ran `du -sxb` as the unprivileged hive-core user over
each agent's state/, work/ and container rootfs. hive-core cannot read
the rootfs or all of the agent-owned files, so `du` failed and each
failed path silently counted as 0: the dashboard showed a few MB for
agents using over 13 GB.
Add a hive-priv `MeasureAgentDisk { agent_name }` op. hive-priv
validates the name, derives the three paths itself (the request carries
no path), skips the ones that don't exist, and runs one
`du -s -x -b -c -P` as root with a 10 min timeout. A timeout, a non-zero
exit or output without a `total` line is an error.
hive-c0re calls it every 30 min instead of running `du` every 5 min:
each pass walks every agent's full tree as root on the disk the agents
work on, and the sizes move slowly. A failed measurement is cached as
None, so `disk_bytes` is null, the OTel storage.usage sample is omitted
and the dashboard shows "unknown", never 0.
`Coordinator::agent_work_dir` had no other caller and is removed.
Closes#4956
The CI runner was a hive deploy module: hive-ci.nix ran it beside the
forge, and hive-c0re registered it through the forge's admin API with
the `core` token, writing the registration token through hive-priv. It
could only run on the forge's host, and it kept an admin-scoped forge
token on a hive.
Now the runner is a swarm service:
- swarm-ci-runner.nix runs it in a `swarm-ci-runner` container on the
host that sets deploy.ci-runner.enable, reaching the forge by name.
It needs neither the forge nor a hive there.
- swarm-controller reads the forge's runner registration token with its
own admin token and writes it to swarm/services/ci-runner/
registration-token whenever it differs from what it last wrote. Its
grant on that path is create/update only.
- The runner's own leaf (CN swarm-ci-runner, role and policy of the same
name) reads that one path. swarm-bao-ci-runner.service fetches it into
the runner's EnvironmentFile and restarts the runner on a change.
- A pre-start step removes .runner when the daemon's journal since its
last start holds Forgejo's "unregistered runner" refusal (the daemon
exits 1 when its startup Declare gets it), or when .runner names
another forge address; upstream's pre-start step then registers again.
Removed from the hive side: hive-ci.nix and deploy.forgejo.ci.*,
forge/ci_runner.rs, PrivRequest::RegisterCiRunner and its handler and
ReadWritePaths entry, InfraContainer::Ci with hivectl's --ci and the
dashboard's hive-ci journal entry, HYPERHIVE_FORGE_CI_ENABLED, and
read:admin,write:admin from CORE_TOKEN_SCOPES: nothing else in hive-c0re
calls /api/v1/admin/*. The old ci options, under both swarm.forge.ci and
deploy.forgejo.ci, now fail evaluation naming deploy.ci-runner.
The forge's half of the old ci.enable, the actions/checkout mirror and
DEFAULT_ACTIONS_URL = self, is deploy.forgejo.actionsFromSelf.
Closes#4954
Y3R C4LL is the operator inbox alone: no P3NDING APPR0VALS section, no
approval cards or history, no approval_resolved subscription, no
approval browser notifications, and the tab count and title prefix count
unread operator messages only. The H0M3 tile text drops "approvals".
The deny form was the only data-prompt form, so bindAsyncForms' prompt
branch, themedPrompt and its dialog styles go too, along with the
approval-only CSS (.approval*, .approvals-history, .btn-deny, the
status/glyph colours and .history-note).
The tab lists the rows left in the hive's store so the operator can
recreate them with `swarmctl schedule add`: no create row, edit form,
fire/pause/cancel buttons or schedules_changed subscription. The next
column shows the stored next fire time as an absolute UTC timestamp (the
value for --at) instead of a countdown. A warning banner says the page is
slated for removal and points at swarmctl. The approvals view drops the
schedule_prompt card and the approval_added subscription.
An operator's merge on the forge deploys a config PR through
swarm-controller's DeployRequest{rev}. The hive-side path that queued a
MergeConfigPr approval and merged the PR as `core` goes:
- the `/webhook/config-pr` receiver, its HMAC secret, the WebhookRegister
boot node and the org-hook registration; the hive vhost's `/webhook/`
location
- the 5-minute config-PR poll
- ApprovalKind::MergeConfigPr, its dashboard card, and the deploy DAG it
drove (DeployWindow, MergeVerify, DeployApply, FinalizeDeploy,
DeployTail), with verify_commit, the two-phase meta deploy, rollback
refs, the PR-failure comment and forge/pr_merge.rs
- `fetched_sha`, `sha_short`/`pr_number` on approval events, and
`sha`/`tag` on HelperEvent::ApprovalResolved: only the merge path set
them
`config_repo`, `merged_pr_for_commit` and `post_pr_comment` move to
forge/pr_comment.rs for the merged-rev deploy's refusal comment.
Approvals v5 drops stored `merge_config_pr` rows; a test reopens a v4
database holding them.
Closes#4850
An operator links an agent's GitHub personal access token in the swarm UI
(LinkGithubAccountForm, "link github account" on /agents). swarm-controller's
PUT /api/hives/{hive}/agents/{agent}/github-account stores it at
swarm/agents/<agent>/github-token (swarm_secret_client::github), a flat leaf
under the agent's prefix that the agent's existing read grant already covers:
no policy change, and no list grant, since there is one token per agent.
In the agent, hive-agent-github-token (oneshot + 2-minute timer, as the agent
user, under its own store certificate, ordered before hive-github-notify)
reads that path and writes <state>/github-token, 0600 and agent-owned, the
file the gh wrapper, git credential helper and hive-github-notify already
read. It replaces the file by rename only when the bytes changed and never
deletes it: a hive-written github-token stays until a token is linked in the
swarm UI. It is installed only with a store address and
services.hyperhive.agent.github.enable.
Removed: the dashboard's CR3D3NTIALS page (credentials.html/js/css, its
build entries and H0M3 tile; GITHUB was its only tab), hive-c0re's
dashboard/matrix_accounts.rs with GET/POST /api/github-account,
priv_client::write_agent_github_token, the host socket's
SetAgentGithubToken and `hivectl github set-token`, and hive-priv's
WriteAgentGithubToken with write_agent_state_file, its only caller gone.
Docs: integrations/github.md and swarm/ui.md describe the swarm path,
swarm/credentials.md gains the store-path row, and the hive UI docs,
hivectl docs and security.md's hive-priv table drop the removed pieces.
Closes#4347
The previous commit removed dashboard.md's M4TR1X section. These
comments and the `deploy.matrix.gui.enable` option description still
described a hive-dashboard M4TR1X tab or cited that section. They now
state what the option does: it serves the client on the gateway vhost
and adds the swarm UI's Matrix quick link (docs/swarm/ui.md::Quick links).
Refs #3902
An operator now links an agent's external forge account (label, base URL,
token) in the swarm UI. swarm-controller stores it at
swarm/agents/<agent>/forge/<label>. There is no index: the store's
listing of the agent's forge/ directory is the set of accounts.
In the agent, hive-agent-forge-accounts (oneshot + 2-minute timer, as
the agent user, under its own store certificate) lists
swarm/agents/<agent>/forge/ with the `list` #4866 grants an agent on its
own metadata subtree, reads each account, and writes
<state>/forge-<label>-token and forge-<label>.json in the names and shape
hive-forge -f already reads. An empty listing (a 404, which `bao kv list
-format=json` answers with `{}` and an empty stderr) is zero accounts; a
denial or an unreachable store fails the unit. It never deletes: files
for labels not listed, including ones the hive wrote, stay as they are.
Removed: the dashboard FORGES tab (credentials.js/html section and its
CSS), hive-c0re's extra_forges.rs and its routes, priv_client's
extra-forge calls, and hive-priv's WriteAgentExtraForgeAccount /
DeleteAgentExtraForgeAccount with their helpers. The GITHUB tab and
WriteAgentGithubToken stay.
Also: persistence.md's matrix avatar note names the exit-75 restart on a
changed account listing, not the dashboard, as what brings a linked
account up.
Refs #4348
swarm-controller's POST /api/agents now refuses (409) a name the swarm
has already placed on a different hive: a non-Destroyed declaration in
that hive's wanted state, or a SetAgentWanted node still queued for it.
The same name on the same hive is that agent being re-created and goes
through. A wanted state that cannot be read refuses (503/500) instead of
reading as "placed nowhere". Creations are serialised from that read to
the graph insert so two concurrent creations of one name cannot both
pass.
Hive-level creation is removed: hivectl `agent create` / `request-create`,
HostRequest::Spawn / RequestSpawn, the dashboard POST /api/request-spawn
route, and ApprovalKind::Spawn with its approve/resolve arms and the
approval-carrying `templates::spawn`. The swarm path (deploy request or
wanted-state sweep -> queue_first_deploy -> templates::first_deploy) used
none of them. Old `spawn` approval rows are skipped by collect_lenient,
as `init_config` rows were in a3b672d1.
policy.rs's comment on agent_object_name stated swarm-wide name
uniqueness as a fact; it now says where it is enforced and what that
check cannot see.
Refs #4396
The CR3D3NTIALS page's MATRIX tab was the only caller of
`POST /api/matrix-account-login` (provision/log in an external matrix
account through the hive) and `GET /api/matrix-accounts` (its account
list). External matrix accounts are linked from the swarm UI now
(`LinkMatrixAccountForm` -> swarm-controller), so the hive-side UI and
both routes go. `priv_client::restart_matrix_daemon` had no other caller
and goes with them.
Already-provisioned credentials keep working: the `matrix-token-<name>`
files and `matrix-account-<name>.json` sidecars the old route wrote are
still discovered by hive-matrix-mcp (`accounts::configured` ->
`discover_token_accounts`), the `matrix-token*` path unit still re-fires
the daemon, and `WriteAgentMatrixToken` stays for the swarm credential
worker. Removing that usage waits on moving the existing creds to
swarm level.
The GITHUB tab is the credentials page's default tab now.
Refs #4348
C0NTAINERS already states the flat/alphabetical/no-nesting fact;
the section repeated it with zero new operator info. Fix the two
dangling references (README.md reading-path index, swarm.js
comment) rather than leaving them pointing at a removed heading.
The backend dropped the agent hierarchy's parent field, so every
container is a root and buildAgentTree/treePrefixDom could only ever
produce a single-level flat list — the .tree-prefix CSS lane rules
already matched nothing. Replaced with sortedContainerRows, a plain
alphabetical sort, and dropped the now-dead .tree-prefix/.tree-lane/
data-depth CSS and the depth/isLast/ancestorIsLast fields from the row
fingerprint and buildContainerLi's signature. No visible behavior
change - the rendered list was already flat, just via dead machinery.
Docs updated to describe the simpler implementation directly instead
of narrating the removal (kept the heading name since swarm.js still
points a comment at it).
The topology doc keeps its filename and its second half (manager
special-casing, harness unit shape) — both are cross-referenced from
other pages and neither is about the parent field. Its first half is
rewritten: what topology.json is now, and a table of what the removal
took with it, so a reader who finds `<parent>` or `set-parent` in an old
issue thread learns it went away rather than moved.
The dashboard's tree-rendering section is marked dormant rather than
deleted: the walk is still in swarm.js and retiring it is the frontend
owner's call.
`topology.json` was a map of `name -> parent | null`, and that value fed
the whole agent hierarchy: `<parent>` / `<children>` recipient sentinels,
the reparenting API (CLI verb, wire verb, dashboard endpoints, DAG node),
the dashboard tree, the rebuild depth sort, and an unconditional
bind-mount grant giving every agent RW on its direct children's state.
Per the operator's ruling the field goes, and with it all of the above.
The file survives as what remains once the value is gone: the roster of
agent names, which is the set `ManageRootAgent` grants mounts over. It is
now a JSON array; `read` still accepts the old map shape and keeps its
keys, so a hive that upgrades across this does not blank its roster (and
so no capability holder loses its mounts for the length of that window).
Two sites kept their behaviour under a different recipient rather than
losing it. Both addressed `<parent>`, which the broker already resolved to
`operator` for a root agent, and every agent is now what that fallback
called a root:
- the harness's turn-failure / plugin-failure notification
(`Surface::send_to_parent` -> `send_to_operator`), and
- the send allow-list's always-permitted escape hatch, so an agent with a
restrictive allow-list still has a way to say it is stuck.
What is NOT preserved, deliberately: an agent with no capability no longer
sees any other agent's dirs. `ManageRootAgent`'s own grant is unchanged --
still every agent in the roster, still state RW + config RO, still no
`harness`.
The dashboard's reparenting control (the M0V3 picker) is deleted with its
CSS. The tree rendering that reads `ContainerView.parent` is left for the
frontend owner -- it degrades to a flat list with the field gone.
mara: 'filling just one of the fields should not touch the other.'
The cpu/mem override form always posts both fields, and the server
correctly treats an empty field as 'clear this override' (documented,
tested behavior in agent_config/resource_limits.rs). The bug was on the
client: the inputs only ever showed the current effective value as a
placeholder, never as the actual value — so a field left untouched
looked filled to the eye but posted empty, silently clearing whatever
override (or lack of one) was already in effect for that field.
Fix: set .value to the current effective value (already fetched and
displayed correctly in the read-only cap columns next to this form) so
leaving a field alone round-trips it unchanged. One resulting nuance
worth flagging: an agent with no per-agent override on a field, that's
purely tracking the hive-wide default, now pins that field to today's
default the first time *any* field on the form is edited, rather than
continuing to silently follow future hive-default changes. Fixing that
fully would need the server to expose whether each field is a real
per-agent override or just the resolved default, which is more than
this bug report asked for.
swarm-controller's `InitAgentConfigRepo` node already covers config-repo
creation, so this deletes a duplicate rather than a capability; old
`init_config` rows are skipped by `collect_lenient` with no migration, by
operator decision.
Refs #4398
mara: "add mjs to the lint and fix it in this pr". Both lints scope their
git ls-files scan to a fixed extension list that never included .mjs, so
all three frontend build.mjs files (swarm-ui, dashboard, agent) were
completely invisible to both -- not merely under the limits, outside the
scan entirely.
check-comment-blocks.sh: added '*.mjs' to the ls-files glob and to the
mode_of regex (same slash-comment treatment .js/.ts/.tsx already get --
.mjs is the same comment syntax, argus's exact proposed fix). check-issue-refs.sh:
added '*.mjs' to its glob list, no regex change needed.
Fixing the scope immediately surfaced real, pre-existing violations in
the other two build.mjs files (swarm-ui's own is already handled by this
PR's earlier commits):
- dashboard/build.mjs: 49-line comment block (trimmed to 15 -- redundant
per-file output-layout table cut, the code below already names every
output path) plus three bare tracker tags (#448 x2, #453) in the
stream-worker comment, reworded to prose
- agent/build.mjs: two bare tracker tags (hyperhive#3685 x2), reworded
No logic changes anywhere -- comment-only edits plus the two lint
scripts. Closes#4300 and (independently filed, consolidated into that
one) #4299.
docs/web-ui.md duplicated the web-ui/ directory name at the top level --
the only such collision in docs/ (every other subsystem has just a
directory, no sibling <dir>.md file). That's exactly why it rendered
outside the directory structure in the docs site nav (mara's report,
hyperhive#4054): the site build walks docs/ generically with no
special-casing, so a loose top-level file next to a same-named
directory shows up as its own flat top-level entry instead of nesting
under that directory's section.
web-ui.md's own first paragraph already said as much -- 'This doc has
been split for readability... start at web-ui/README.md instead.' It
was a leftover pointer from before the split, not a page carrying
unique content on its own merit.
Folded its two sections web-ui/README.md didn't already have (the
swarm-ui design-guide link, and the task-oriented 'reading paths'
quick-lookup list) into web-ui/README.md's existing 'More depth'
section, then deleted the stray file and repointed every real
reference at it: 3 in-tree doc cross-links, 3 doc prose mentions
(retargeted to the more specific dashboard.md/shape.md sub-page each
one was actually about), and ~28 frontend source comments
(dashboard/agent/shared packages) that cited it as
'docs/web-ui.md::<heading>' for implementation context -- retargeted
each to whichever of dashboard.md/shape.md/agent.md actually carries
that heading now, verified against each file's real heading list
rather than guessed.
Verified via scripts/check-doc-refs.sh (the same lint CI runs): 0 dead
pointers, both before write (confirming the tree was clean beforehand)
and after (confirming nothing broke).
Pure `nix fmt` output from the commit before this one — no hand edits.
203 files: 52 md, 42 tsx, 32 js, 32 css, 21 ts, 13 html, 8 json, 3 mjs.
Reproduce with `nix develop -c nix fmt` on the parent commit; the result
should be byte-identical to this tree.
None of the 13 `.prettierignore` entries appears here — verified by
intersecting the changed-file list against the ignore file, with a
control proving the intersection finds a match when one exists.
`docs/` was reorganised into topic subdirectories and the references to it
were not moved with it. Thirteen distinct paths and three relative links no
longer resolved, spread across nix, css, html, js, markdown and
.prettierignore — a stale pointer is not a markdown problem, it is wherever
someone wrote a path down.
Each mapping resolved to exactly one target. `docs/matrix.md` was the sole
ambiguous basename: .prettierignore lists `docs/tools/matrix.md` separately
and that entry still resolves, so the stale one is the integrations doc.
The three relative links were each one `../` too deep — from `<crate>/src/`
two levels reach the repo root. `hive-agent/src/login.rs` already had the
correct form, in the same crate, at the same depth.
.prettierignore is repointed rather than dropped, though nothing in the tree
runs prettier: no treefmt entry, no CI job, no package script. Whether that
config should exist at all is a separate question from whether it names
files that do.
Continues #3901 (dashboard round 1 was #3906, tabs.js/swarm.js).
Scanned the rest of packages/dashboard/src for the same 'moved to X'/
'now lives in Y' pattern: five more hits in schedules.js, common.js,
logs.js (two, one duplicating the other), core.js, and swarm.js.
All trimmed to state the current location as a fact rather than
narrating the move; one inline duplicate (logs.js's tab-default
comment restating the file-header pointer) dropped outright.
`check-doc-refs.sh` resolves the PATH half of a `docs/x.md::Section`
pointer and stops there. The section half rots the same way, and more
quietly: the file still exists, so every path-shaped check stays green
while the pointer names nothing.
Eighteen sites, five distinct pointers, each retargeted at a heading
verified to exist rather than at the nearest plausible one:
docs/web-ui.md::Container row
-> docs/web-ui/dashboard.md::Container row
docs/web-ui.md::Shared terminal pane
-> docs/web-ui/shape.md::Shared terminal pane
Both sections moved out when docs/web-ui.md became a two-heading
index. The path still resolves, which is exactly why nothing
caught them.
approvals.md::Helper events to the manager
-> approvals.md::Helper events to the submitting agent
Renamed with the manager special-casing removal; the pointer kept
the old vocabulary.
approvals.md::Migration from the pre-tag
-> approvals.md::Startup migrations (older hosts)
Same content, including the HIVE_SKIP_META_MIGRATION kill switch
the citing comment names.
agent-hierarchy.md::Current state
-> ::Where the tree lives (topology.rs, container_view.rs)
-> ::Reparenting (topology.rs's set_parent, host-sock)
Split by what each site actually asks for rather than repointed
uniformly: two want the format and the source-of-truth rule, two
want the reparenting validation.
Three known-dead pointers are deliberately left alone:
* `docs/integrations/forge.md::Sources` sits on a line PR #3927
rewrites; fixing it here would conflict for no gain.
* `docs/web-ui/shape.md::One unified channel` names real text that is
bold inline rather than a heading — which of those counts as
resolvable is the open question on #3922.
* `persistence.md::Harness state files` should point at a heading
whose own text contains backticks, and the backticked-pointer form
cannot nest them. That is a limit of the convention, not a typo.
Comments only; no behaviour change. Refs #3922.
Per mara's guidance on hyperhive#3901 (target ~15% comment density
overall, less where obvious, more where not; prefer docs for
abstract/general topics; don't restate facts in multiple places;
don't document history).
tabs.js: removed 4 pure "X now lives in Y" / "moved to Z" historical
asides (the underlying facts are already documented in
docs/web-ui/dashboard.md, not lost by removing the floating in-code
aside) and merged one comment block that had drifted into restating
the same fact twice (one ticker feeding two live displays, documented
as if it were two separate tickers).
swarm.js: cut a comment narrating the removal history of two features
that no longer exist in the code (a per-agent queued-badge and a
client-side jobq tally), keeping only the design constraint still in
force (why the jobq-derived state here is deliberately narrow); cut a
comment documenting a removed CSS class's history down to a statement
of the current class's purpose; cut a comment restating the
jobq-rollup rendering rationale already stated once, above, down to a
one-line pointer; trimmed a "legacy flat layout is bit-identical"
history clause down to what the depth-0 case actually renders.
mara asked on PR #3854 to remove the revive action alongside the
blank-name spawn form. Both posted to /api/request-spawn as the last
two frontend callers; with this the dashboard has no UI path left that
hits that endpoint (backend removal/decision stays damocles's call).
Drops the K3PT ST4T3 tombstone row's ⊕ R3V1V3 form, leaving PURG3 as
the only per-tombstone action. Updated the two doc/comment spots that
described the now-gone button.
Frontend half of removing hive-level agent spawning (swarm-level
creation now covers it, and its forge-works confirmation just landed
in hive/hive-chat). Removes call.js's blank-name spawn-request form
(R3QU3ST SP4WN) and its now-orphaned .spawnform CSS.
Deliberately keeps core.js's tombstone-list revive action (R3V1V3) --
a different feature (respawn an *existing* agent, reusing its kept
state), not agent creation, and not what this issue asked to remove.
It happens to post to the same /api/request-spawn action with the
tombstone's own name pre-filled rather than a blank input.
Backend endpoint + wiring is a separate slice (damocles).
mara (issue #3817): remove the home link + page, put the setting toggle into the Y3R C4LL tab. Deleted settings.html/.js/.css; the browser-notification toggle (the only content there) now renders as a ◆ PR3F3R3NC3S ◆ section under Y3R C4LL's approvals/inbox, wired the same way (NOTIF.bind()/NOTIF.show() in common.js — no behavior change, just a new mount point). Updated build.mjs's entry lists and every doc/comment that pointed at the old page.
mara (issue #3816): remove the swarm-service links (forge, matrix) from the hive home hub. Both surfaces are still reachable directly (forge's own public URL, /matrix/); they just no longer get a tile on H0M3. Dropped the now-dead reveal/href-fill logic in home.js and updated the two docs that described the old gating.
mara, #3778: the toggle lived on the separate hive-dashboard's
/settings.html even though it's agent-terminal-only. Moved it into
SettingsMenu (shared with swarm-ui) behind an opt-in showExpandDetails
prop — only the agent page passes it, matching her caution that the
component is shared but this setting isn't.
Also found and fixed a real regression while touching this: the
Preact rewrite's classifyEvent.ts hardcodes defaultOpen: true only for
the always-open markdown-bearing rows (send/ask/answer/recv) and never
reads the preference at all for the rows it's actually meant to
control (diffs, plain tool output, long errors) — so the toggle
currently has zero effect on the live page. Wired
getExpandDetailsPref() into those four sites; the always-open rows are
untouched, matching the documented pre-rewrite behavior.
Converted prefs.js to prefs.ts (TS couldn't resolve types for a plain
.js import) — same public @hive/shared/prefs.js export path, matching
how badge.js/icons.js etc. already map a .js export name to a
.tsx/.ts source file.
