The hive-domain vhost renders only where a hive runs. On a host without
one the only certificate is the swarm-services leaf, which does not name
the hive domain, so a homeserver host without a hive serves matrix on the
homeserver's own name only; apex matrix discovery is #4878.
Comments and test names describe the code's current behaviour.
Refs #4588
The hive-domain vhost renders where a hive or the homeserver runs. Its
matrix .well-known JSON and /matrix/ redirect are served wherever the
homeserver runs; the dashboard, swagger UI, agent routes and the
agents.conf include only where a hive runs, since they proxy to hive-c0re.
The gateway doc's vhost map says which rows exist without a hive, and the
trust-bundle text describes ca.pem by what it is rather than as retired.
Refs #4588
A gateway host without a hive whose only swarm name is the store's UI no
longer waits for swarm-services-cert: its nginx carries the stream
passthrough to the store and must come up while the store is sealed. Until
the services leaf lands, hive-gateway-self-signed-cert installs a throwaway
self-signed pair on the default and swarm-services paths there; on a host
without a hive it never references the hive leaf.
A host without a hive also no longer mints the hive-leaf identity or
defaults the options pointing at it, and does not render the hive-domain
vhost, whose upstream is hive-c0re.
Refs #4588
A self-signed gateway on a host with deploy.hive-controller.enable off
(a dedicated swarm-services host) needed the hive leaf for its catch-all,
and that leaf now comes only from hive-tls-resign with a per-hive store
identity. hive-tls-resign and its timer are now defined only where a hive
runs; elsewhere hive-gateway-self-signed-cert installs the swarm-services
leaf as the default cert, and the gateway waits for swarm-services-cert.
Also corrects the hive-gateway comments and option text that still said
the leaf is hive-CA-signed.
Refs #4588
hive-tls-ca no longer deletes a ca-key.pem an earlier generation left:
nothing reads it, and leaving it means a rollback finds the old key instead
of minting a new anchor. Deleting it moves to PR 3, beside dropping ca.pem
from the trust bundle.
hive-tls-resign now also re-issues when the leaf's public key differs from
the key file's. The leaf and key are moved into place by two renames, and an
interrupted pair left a certificate beside the wrong key that the validity
check accepted.
Refs #4588
swarm-controller.nix said the gateway leaf is signed by a hive CA generated
at runtime; lib/hive-ca-trust.nix said hive-tls-ca generates the CA and that
containers bind ca.pem, while the code binds trust-bundle.pem.
Refs #4588
Every hive gets its own store identity (CN
<deploy.bao.hiveLeafCommonNamePrefix>-<hive>) and its own role on the
existing pki mount (<deploy.bao.hiveLeafPkiRolePrefix>-<hive>), whose
allowed_domains is the hive's domain and *.<domain>. The policy grants
update on that one issue path. swarm-bao-hive-leaf-policy writes role,
policy and cert-auth role for every hive in swarm.hives; the store's host
mints its own hive's identity in glue-bao-tls.nix and a new glue file
points deploy.hive-controller.tls.baoHiveIdentity{Cert,Key}File at it.
Hives on other hosts place it by hand. swarm.nix reserves the composed CN.
hive-tls-ca no longer generates a hive CA or signs a leaf: caGenScript,
signLeafScript/signHiveLeaf and the adoption block are gone, ca-key.pem
is deleted where it exists, and the unit only assembles trust-bundle.pem.
The retired ca.pem/ca-previous.pem stay in the bundle so leaves they
signed keep verifying.
hive-tls-resign becomes the bao issuance: at boot, on deploy and from a
daily timer it re-issues when the leaf is missing, past half the role's
lifetime, missing a name, or not chained to the store's pki root. Nothing
orders the gateway after it, so a valid leaf on disk never waits on the
store; a failed renewal leaves the leaf in place. A missing identity
fails the unit naming both options, as does the root fetch on a hive
fronting no swarm name, which now presents this identity instead of the
reader cert.
caValidityDays and leafValidityDays are removed (both spellings), since
nothing reads them.
Refs #4588
hive-c0re logs in with the hive's matrix sender token and creates the
Space and rooms over swarm.matrix.apiUrl. On a hive that does not run
the homeserver that crosses the network, so the default is now
https://<gatewayHost>. hive-c0re already verifies against the hive trust
bundle (SSL_CERT_FILE: system CAs, swarm root and the store's services
root), which covers the gateway's leaf for that name.
Also drops the remaining loopback-default wording in hive-c0re's matrix
module and the openFirewall description, and pins the https default on a
hive host without the homeserver in module-eval-matrix-core.
- swarm.serviceDomains lists every swarm service name on every host. The
store's issuing role is built from it, so the store now admits a leaf
for grafana, metrics, otel, logs, the bao UI and the apex whichever host
runs the store. Each gateway's own leaf stays narrowed by
localServiceDomains.
- swarm.matrix.apiUrl defaults to http://<swarm.matrix.gatewayHost>
(null when gatewayHost is null) instead of loopback on the matrix host.
- The authelia vhost proxies /bridge/ to swarm-authelia-bridge with the
prefix stripped, and deploy.swarm-controller.authBridgeUrl defaults to
${swarm.authelia.url}/bridge on every host. swarm.authelia.bridgeUrl is
removed.
- swarm-authelia-bridge admits only swarm-controller's OIDC client on
every request (403 for any other active token), configured by
SWARM_AUTHELIA_BRIDGE_CONTROLLER_CLIENT_ID (renamed from
..._OPERATOR_READER_CLIENT_ID, which gated ListOperators alone).
- swarm.peerHives is removed; swarm-wireguard.nix filters this host's own
hive out of swarm.hives itself.
Closes#4933
swarm-controller keeps every scheduled prompt (id, name, agents, body,
anchor, interval, paused) as one document under one key of a new
`schedule-definitions` KV bucket, so each change is a single
compare-and-set and a prompt exists for all of its agents or none. It
writes each agent's key of a new `agent-schedules` bucket as the prompts
naming that agent, without names or other agents, after every change and
on a one-minute reconcile pass. It is the only writer of both, behind
GET/POST /api/schedules and PATCH/DELETE /api/schedules/{id}.
`swarmctl schedule add|list|edit|pause|resume|rm` drives those routes over
the controller socket.
An agent's own queue credential is granted one more subject, the direct
get of its own key in `agent-schedules`. A KV watch is not granted: its
consumer create subject carries no key, so it would cover every agent's.
hive-agent's new schedule ticker reads that key every 10 seconds and fires
due slots as the same `schedule:<id>` todo hive-c0re's worker pushes. Fire
times are anchor + k*interval; the last fired slot per schedule id is kept
in the state db, so a body edit or list refresh never moves or refires a
slot, downtime fires the latest missed slot once, a restart refires
nothing, a one-shot fires once, and paused slots are skipped.
Refs #4914
OpenBao checks a LIST against the directory with a trailing slash, so
the controller's LIST on secret/metadata/swarm/agents/<a>/matrix is
checked as .../matrix/. Its empty last segment matches the `+` in the
delete stanza .../agents/+/matrix/+ (added by bbf93120), which then is
the only non-exact rule matching, and its ["delete"] denies the LIST
before acl.go's trimmed-path fallback reaches .../+/matrix ["list"].
The forge directory fails the same way against .../+/forge/+.
Writing the list stanzas as .../+/matrix/ and .../+/forge/ makes them
match the slashed request too, and with one `+` segment against two
they outrank the delete stanzas. Deletes on .../matrix/<id> still
resolve to .../+/matrix/+, which the slashed list path does not match.
Reproduced by iris against a local bao server -dev with a non-root
token: list stanza alone allowed, plus the delete stanza denied, list
stanza with trailing slash plus the delete stanza allowed.
Closes#4919
swarm-authelia-bridge gains ListOperators, the usernames in authelia's
operator group (`operatorGroup = "admins"`, passed in from
swarm-authelia.nix). Unlike the two agent verbs, which admit any active
token, it answers only the client named by
SWARM_AUTHELIA_BRIDGE_OPERATOR_READER_CLIENT_ID (swarm-controller's
queueClientId) and returns 403 to every other active token: authelia
issues machine tokens to every hive and its agents as well. The bridge's
introspection now models `client_id` to make that check, the same way
swarm-nats-auth's does.
swarm-controller runs a grant-only pass at start and every five minutes:
read the group, map each username to the account an SSO login lands on
(tuwunel lowercases `preferred_username`), skip anyone already joined to
`#admins:<server>` (tuwunel's definition of admin) or without a matrix
account, and send `!admin users make-user-admin <user>` there as @swarm
with the swarm appservice token. Nothing is ever revoked: tuwunel has no
command for it (#4799).
The admin-room calls (alias, joined members, profile, send) go into
swarm-matrix-client next to whoami, keeping its no-body-in-errors rule.
Closes#4585
A hive fronting no swarm name fetches the store's pki root presenting its
reader certificate. When deploy.bao.clientCertFile or clientKeyFile is unset,
or either named file is not readable, the unit now exits 1 with a message
naming both options and their paths, instead of exiting 0 with the root
missing from the trust bundle.
The module-eval cases that asserted the quiet skip assert the failure
instead, and a new case covers the named-but-absent files.
`baoClientCertFile`'s description said the services-cert unit had no
business holding `deploy.bao.clientCertFile`. Under mara's ruling that
every hive has a store identity, the root fetch presents that reader
cert. It is used only for the mTLS handshake of `pki/ca/pem`, which takes
no token, and the unit never logs in with it. The description now says
so, and the fetch is marked interim until each hive has its own narrow
store identity.
Refs #4588 (review c88790).
The `want_svc=0` root fetch presents `deploy.bao.clientCertFile`/
`clientKeyFile` to a listener that demands a client certificate. On a
hive with neither set, the handshake is refused every time, and
`swarm-services-cert` went from green to failed-and-retrying for 24h.
The branch is now chosen at eval: with no reader identity, the unit
logs that the store root was not staged and names the option, then
exits 0, and no fetch is rendered. A hive with an identity fetches as
before. `hivectl peer-config` already handles the absent file.
Refs #4588 (review c88774, point 2).
A self-signed hive fronting no swarm service name never filled
`$svcroot` (/var/lib/hive-tls/swarm-services-root.pem): the only writer
was `swarm-services-cert`'s issuance, which exits early on
`want_svc=0`. So those hives' trust-bundle.pem lacked the store's `pki`
root, even though every other hive's swarm-service names chain to it.
On `want_svc=0`, `swarm-services-cert` now reads the root from the
store's unauthenticated `GET /v1/pki/ca/pem`, over the hive's existing
BAO_ADDR, `deploy.bao.serverCaFile` and reader identity
(`deploy.bao.clientCertFile`/`clientKeyFile`) at the TLS layer only; no
login. It writes `$svcroot` and restarts `hive-tls-ca` when the root
changed, as the issuing path already does. The daily
`swarm-services-cert-renew` timer runs the same script, so the copy
follows a root rotation.
The gateway no longer `Requires=` `swarm-services-cert` on such a host:
nginx reads nothing that unit writes there, and the fetch retries
against a sealed store.
`hivectl peer-config` prints the root as step 2 of the self-signed
instructions: the swarm's service names are issued under it, not the
swarm root.
No new option. Refs #4588.
The agent view in the swarm UI gets a message box. The text reaches the
agent's harness straight from swarm-controller over the swarm queue and
becomes an inbox turn from the operator's authelia username. hive-c0re is
not in the path.
- gateway: `/api/` forwards authelia's `Remote-User`, replacing any the
client sent.
- swarm-controller: `POST /api/agents/{name}/input` takes that header as
the sender (401 without it) and sends `{from, body}` as a NATS request
on `$SWARM.input.<agent>`. No subscriber is a 503.
- swarm-nats-auth: the controller is granted publish on `$SWARM.input.*`;
no hive or agent grant names the family, so the harness can trust
`from`.
- hive-agent: a task subscribes to the agent's own input subject and
pushes each message into the serve loop's existing reminder channel,
renamed `local_msg_*` since it now carries both.
The harness does not reply to the request: no agent grant covers a reply
subject. The controller therefore answers 202 once the request times out
(2s) and 503 on the server's no-responders status.
Closes#4828
swarm-controller now creates `term-sub-<agent>` for every agent a hive is
declared to run, at start and every minute after, with the config
`swarm_queue_client::subagent_term::open_or_create` spells (subjects
`$SWARM.term.<agent>.sub.>`, max_age 24h). An existing stream is opened as
it is, as the controller does for its other streams and buckets, under the
`$JS.API.STREAM.CREATE.*` grant it already holds.
The agent no longer creates the stream: its token is granted publish on
`$SWARM.term.<agent>.sub.>` and no `$JS.API.STREAM.CREATE|INFO` subject,
and the subagent daemon only publishes. A `CREATE` carries the stream's
config in its payload, which no subject grant narrows, so the agent could
otherwise pick the stream's subjects and limits.
An agent's subagent daemon publishes each subagent's output as terminal
rows on `$SWARM.term.<agent>.sub.<subagent>`, as the agent, into a
per-agent stream it creates itself; swarm-controller lists an agent's
subagents from that stream's subjects and relays one subagent's rows as
SSE; the swarm UI lists them under the agent's terminal preview and
reuses AgentTermPreview, full-screen tab included, with no input.
- swarm-nats.nix: the agent token may also publish
`$SWARM.term.{agent}.sub.>` and `$JS.API.STREAM.CREATE|INFO` on
`term-sub-{agent}`, and nothing else of JetStream. A module-eval arm
pins the agent-token grant as an exact list.
- mcp.nix: hive-subagent-daemon loads the agent's store identity
(`hive-agent-bao-cert/-key/-server-ca`, the ones hive-agent loads)
whenever the agent has a store, not only on the opencode preset. The
agent's own queue secret lives in the store, so this is the credential
the harness connects with.
- hive-subagent-mcp: `swarm_term` reads the agent's queue secret under
that identity, connects with the agent token, opens or creates
`term-sub-<agent>` (max_age 24h), and publishes classified rows from
the sink every subagent line already passes through. The sink only
queues (bounded, drop-and-count); a missing store, refused credential,
failed stream create or failed publish is a log line.
- The stream-json classifier (`stream_enrich`) and the `TermMsg` row
types plus `fit` move from the hive-agent binary into hive-sh4re, so
the subagent daemon publishes the rows AgentTermPreview already
renders. hive-agent keeps its LiveEvent classifier on top.
- swarm-controller: `GET /api/agents/{name}/subagents` and
`GET /api/agents/{name}/subagents/{subagent}/term/stream`.
- docs/swarm: what the UI shows and what the queue carries.
Closes#4827
Each row of an agent's linked accounts, except its own `main` matrix
account, gets a delete action. swarm-controller serves DELETE beside each
PUT (matrix-accounts/{account}, forge-accounts/{label}, github-account),
answers 404 for an account the store does not hold, refuses `main`, and
removes every version through `delete_all_versions`.
The matrix confirmation has a revoke checkbox, off by default: the
controller logs the stored token out at its homeserver first, and keeps
the account when that fails or no homeserver is stored.
The controller's policy gains `delete` on each agent's
`metadata/.../matrix/+`, `forge/+` and `github-token`, pinned in
bao-grants.nix.
Refs #4855
An operator's merge on the forge deploys a config PR through
swarm-controller's DeployRequest{rev}. The hive-side path that queued a
MergeConfigPr approval and merged the PR as `core` goes:
- the `/webhook/config-pr` receiver, its HMAC secret, the WebhookRegister
boot node and the org-hook registration; the hive vhost's `/webhook/`
location
- the 5-minute config-PR poll
- ApprovalKind::MergeConfigPr, its dashboard card, and the deploy DAG it
drove (DeployWindow, MergeVerify, DeployApply, FinalizeDeploy,
DeployTail), with verify_commit, the two-phase meta deploy, rollback
refs, the PR-failure comment and forge/pr_merge.rs
- `fetched_sha`, `sha_short`/`pr_number` on approval events, and
`sha`/`tag` on HelperEvent::ApprovalResolved: only the merge path set
them
`config_repo`, `merged_pr_for_commit` and `post_pr_comment` move to
forge/pr_comment.rs for the merged-rev deploy's refusal comment.
Approvals v5 drops stored `merge_config_pr` rows; a test reopens a v4
database holding them.
Closes#4850
GET /api/hives/{hive}/agents/{agent}/linked-accounts returns one row per
account linked to the agent, as kind, name and host: each matrix account
under swarm/agents/<agent>/matrix (with its homeserver, and the agent's own
`main` marked reserved), each forge label under swarm/agents/<agent>/forge
(with its url), and github when swarm/agents/<agent>/github-token exists
(host github.com, which is not stored). No credential field is in the
response type.
Listing those two directories needs a new controller grant: `list` on
secret/metadata/swarm/agents/+/matrix and .../+/forge only, pinned in
bao-grants.nix as the only metadata stanzas under agents/ beside the queue
revocation. Checked against a dev OpenBao 2.6.3: the grant lists those two
directories and is refused on agents/, agents/<agent>/, and a leaf.
The swarm UI agent detail panel shows all rows under "accounts"; the table
view's matrix column shows the matrix rows. The link badges stay.
Refs #4855
The swarm-controller builds the Forge quick link from
services.hyperhive.swarm.forge.domain, replacing hive-forge/default.nix's
per-host entry, so all seven swarm-service links come from swarm-level
options.
Also drops the remaining references to the removed matrix GUI switch:
the HiveUrls / Urls / hive_urls docs, the hivectl.md `open` note and
the gateway.md vhost-map rows, which name `gatewayHost` instead. The
grafana, victoriametrics and victorialogs modules' comments no longer
mention a quick-link they do not define.
Refs #4885
The swarm-controller adds a Bao quick link built from
services.hyperhive.swarm.bao.ui.domain, so the popover links the
store's browser UI whichever host runs bao.
Refs #4885
Removes services.hyperhive.deploy.matrix.gui.enable and its
swarm.matrix.gui.enable alias; both are mkRemovedOptionModule stubs. A
host running the homeserver serves fluffychat at gatewayHost's vhost,
and the hive's /matrix/ redirect follows the same condition.
The swarm-controller builds the Matrix quick link from
swarm.matrix.gatewayHost, replacing hive-matrix.nix's per-host entry.
HIVE_MATRIX_PUBLIC_URL is set on every hive with a gatewayHost, so
`hivectl open matrix` resolves off the homeserver's host too.
Drops HIVE_MATRIX_GUI_ENABLED and the dashboard's matrix_gui_enabled
field; nothing in the frontend reads it.
Refs #4885
The swarm-controller module builds the Authelia, Grafana, Metrics and
Logs quick links from services.hyperhive.swarm.<service>.domain, on the
controller's host, instead of each service module adding its entry only
on the host that runs it. A controller whose swarm runs those services
on other hosts lists them in its /api/links popover.
Forge, matrix and bao links are not moved yet: forge waits on #4891,
matrix and bao on whether their GUI gate becomes swarm-level.
Refs #4885
The forge always sits behind the gateway, so `deploy.forgejo.behindGateway`
(and its `swarm.forge.behindGateway` rename alias) is removed and its
true-branch behaviour is now unconditional within `deploy.forgejo.enable`:
https ROOT_URL on the gateway's httpsPort, the forge vhost and local DNS
name, the swarm-ui quick link, the published metrics scrape target, forgejo
metrics, the authelia `/metrics` rule, and `publicUrl` defaulting to
`https://<forge.domain>`.
Removed with it: the direct-port `http://<domain>:<httpPort>/` ROOT_URL
branch, the hive-ci assertion that the option is true, the core-toggle
cases that only exercised the false branch (the services-leaf case reads
`bare`, which never enabled the forge either). `hivectl open forge` now
points at `swarm.forge.publicUrl`, which can still be set to null.
Refs #4885
An operator links an agent's GitHub personal access token in the swarm UI
(LinkGithubAccountForm, "link github account" on /agents). swarm-controller's
PUT /api/hives/{hive}/agents/{agent}/github-account stores it at
swarm/agents/<agent>/github-token (swarm_secret_client::github), a flat leaf
under the agent's prefix that the agent's existing read grant already covers:
no policy change, and no list grant, since there is one token per agent.
In the agent, hive-agent-github-token (oneshot + 2-minute timer, as the agent
user, under its own store certificate, ordered before hive-github-notify)
reads that path and writes <state>/github-token, 0600 and agent-owned, the
file the gh wrapper, git credential helper and hive-github-notify already
read. It replaces the file by rename only when the bytes changed and never
deletes it: a hive-written github-token stays until a token is linked in the
swarm UI. It is installed only with a store address and
services.hyperhive.agent.github.enable.
Removed: the dashboard's CR3D3NTIALS page (credentials.html/js/css, its
build entries and H0M3 tile; GITHUB was its only tab), hive-c0re's
dashboard/matrix_accounts.rs with GET/POST /api/github-account,
priv_client::write_agent_github_token, the host socket's
SetAgentGithubToken and `hivectl github set-token`, and hive-priv's
WriteAgentGithubToken with write_agent_state_file, its only caller gone.
Docs: integrations/github.md and swarm/ui.md describe the swarm path,
swarm/credentials.md gains the store-path row, and the hive UI docs,
hivectl docs and security.md's hive-priv table drop the removed pieces.
Closes#4347
The previous commit removed dashboard.md's M4TR1X section. These
comments and the `deploy.matrix.gui.enable` option description still
described a hive-dashboard M4TR1X tab or cited that section. They now
state what the option does: it serves the client on the gateway vhost
and adds the swarm UI's Matrix quick link (docs/swarm/ui.md::Quick links).
Refs #3902
The swarm.domain assertion in hive-network.nix fired on every host that
imported the module, so a host that enables nothing failed eval. It now
fires only when one of the hyperhive service switches is on (every
deploy.*.enable that runs something, gateway, gateway.dns, network,
otel, snapshotStore). The requirement itself is unchanged: any host that
runs a hyperhive service still needs swarm.domain.
The core-toggle module-eval suite gains a case: a missing swarm.domain is
refused on a hive and on a swarm-service-only host, and a host enabling
nothing passes every assertion.
Closes#4887
authelia 4.39.20 exits at startup on `users: {}` ("users: non zero value
required"), and the first-boot unit seeded exactly that, so a swarm with
no users crash-looped authelia and answered 502 until `swarmctl user add`
ran.
The first-boot unit now writes one subject, `swarm.placeholder`, when
the users database is absent, empty, or exactly `users: {}`:
- `disabled: true` — authelia returns "user not found" for a disabled
user before any password check (file_user_provider.go,
CheckUserPassword).
- password: an argon2id digest with an all-zero key. It decodes (authelia
rejects a non-digest at startup) and no known password hashes to it.
- the `.` keeps it out of agent names (`[a-z0-9-]`), and `swarmctl user
add` refuses it as already existing. Neither writer removes users, and
both round-trip `disabled`.
A file with any user in it is never touched.
The docs that described the crash-loop (sso.md, gateway.md, setup.md,
the sso-unavailable error page) now describe the placeholder; the
writers' load_store docs and the seed fixtures follow. module-eval
nats-authelia asserts the seed branch.
An operator now links an agent's external forge account (label, base URL,
token) in the swarm UI. swarm-controller stores it at
swarm/agents/<agent>/forge/<label>. There is no index: the store's
listing of the agent's forge/ directory is the set of accounts.
In the agent, hive-agent-forge-accounts (oneshot + 2-minute timer, as
the agent user, under its own store certificate) lists
swarm/agents/<agent>/forge/ with the `list` #4866 grants an agent on its
own metadata subtree, reads each account, and writes
<state>/forge-<label>-token and forge-<label>.json in the names and shape
hive-forge -f already reads. An empty listing (a 404, which `bao kv list
-format=json` answers with `{}` and an empty stderr) is zero accounts; a
denial or an unreachable store fails the unit. It never deletes: files
for labels not listed, including ones the hive wrote, stay as they are.
Removed: the dashboard FORGES tab (credentials.js/html section and its
CSS), hive-c0re's extra_forges.rs and its routes, priv_client's
extra-forge calls, and hive-priv's WriteAgentExtraForgeAccount /
DeleteAgentExtraForgeAccount with their helpers. The GITHUB tab and
WriteAgentGithubToken stay.
Also: persistence.md's matrix avatar note names the exit-75 restart on a
changed account listing, not the dashboard, as what brings a linked
account up.
Refs #4348
hive-matrix-daemon now learns which external matrix accounts it has from
the swarm secret store, under the agent's own certificate, and the hive
push chain for matrix is gone.
The daemon lists swarm/agents/<agent>/matrix/ (the `list` its policy
grants on its own metadata subtree), reads each account's homeserver
from its credential, and brings the accounts up with their tokens from
the store. Every two minutes it lists again and exits with 75 when the
set of linked accounts changed; the unit restarts on 75 without counting
a failure. A listed name whose credential reads as absent is skipped and
logged once. At start it removes the matrix-token-<a> /
matrix-account-<a>.json pairs a hive delivered (a sidecar marks a pair
as delivered; a declared tokenFile keeps its token).
Removed: CredentialNotice and the $SWARM.credential.* subject and NATS
grant, the controller's publish and its queue precondition on the PUT
route, hive-c0re's credential subscription arm and workers/credential.rs,
priv_client::write_agent_matrix_token, hive-priv's WriteAgentMatrixToken
and its helpers, and the daemon's state-dir account discovery.
Kept: WriteAgentGithubToken and the external-forge path
(WriteAgentExtraForgeAccount, extra_forges.rs) are untouched, and a
declared matrixAccounts tokenFile is still read when the store has no
token for that account.
Refs #4348
`swarm.forge` (what the forge is to every hive: ports, domain, public and
root URLs, OIDC client id and callback) moves to
nix/host-modules/hive-forge/service.nix, together with the rename of the
old `services.hyperhive.forge` tree and the removed `swarm.forge.sso.enable`,
both of which name `swarm.forge` paths. Everything else -- the
`deploy.forgejo` options, the whole `config` block including
`containers.hive-forge`, and the helpers only they read -- stays in
nix/host-modules/hive-forge/default.nix, which now imports ./service.nix.
Importing it from the directory's own default.nix, as hive-c0re/ and
hive-gateway/ do with their option files, keeps the flake's standalone
`nixosModules.hive-forge` export whole.
Both halves read `cfg`, `gatewayCfg`, `swarmDomain` and `deployCfg`. They
are option reads, so each file binds them from `config`. `ssoSourceName`,
`defaultRootUrl` and `effectiveRootUrl` are not options and both halves
need them (the service half builds `sso.redirectUri` from them, the deploy
half registers the login source and sets ROOT_URL), so they are duplicated,
with a note at each copy. `ssoRedirectUri` is read only by the service
half and moves.
`swarm.forge.publicUrl` and `swarm.forge.sso.redirectUri` default from
`deploy.forgejo.behindGateway`; both move as they are.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged
apart from comments: the two on either side of the cut, the
`ssoRedirectUri` comment and the duplication notes, and the rename
precedent in ./deploy.nix, which now names ./hive-forge/service.nix.
Refs #3742
Four comments pointed at ./swarm-otel.nix for something the split moved
to ./swarm-otel-service.nix: `domain` (otel.nix), `domainBase`
(swarm-ui.nix), the `clientId`/`audience` options
(glue-swarm-otel-oidc-client.nix), and `producerName` (swarm-otel.nix's
own "Read-only option below"). Every other pointer to ./swarm-otel.nix
names its `config` block, units, exporters, authenticators or
assertions, which stayed.
Refs #3742
`swarm.otel` (what the swarm collector is to every hive: its domain,
receiver ports, producer names, client id and the audiences that client
may present) moves to nix/host-modules/swarm-otel-service.nix, together
with the `journaldUnits` removal module and the helpers its defaults
read. Everything else -- the `deploy.swarm-otel` options, the whole
`config` block including `containers.swarm-otel`, and the helpers only
they read -- stays in nix/host-modules/swarm-otel.nix, which default.nix
now imports after the new file.
The service file needs `domainBase` (for `domain`), `baoCfg` (for
`storeProducerName`) and `cfg` plus `pushAudiences` (for `audience`).
`swarmDomain` and `domainBase` move. `cfg`, `hyperhiveCfg`, `baoCfg`,
`vmCfg`, `vlCfg`, `metricsPushUrl`, `logsPushUrl` and `pushAudiences`
are read on both sides and none is an option, so each is bound in both
files; the comments on the push URLs say the two copies must agree.
`swarmCfg` was bound and never read, so neither file carries it.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged.
Comments changed: the transition comment above `deploy.swarm-otel` now
names the file `swarm.otel` lives in, and the push-URL and
`pushAudiences` comments now describe the per-file readers and the
duplicate. Three otel fixtures evaluate to the same host and container
toplevel derivations, `swarm.otel.*` and `deploy.swarm-otel.*` values
before and after.
Refs #3742
`swarm.matrix` (what the homeserver is to every hive: server name, ports,
API URL, gateway host, encryption policy, OIDC client id) moves to
nix/host-modules/hive-matrix-service.nix. Everything else -- the
`imports` block with its two renames and the removed `sso.enable`, the
`deploy.matrix` options, the whole `config` block including
`containers.hive-matrix`, and every other let binding -- stays in
nix/host-modules/hive-matrix.nix, which default.nix now imports alongside
the new file.
The `swarm.matrix` block reads three let bindings, and the `config` block
reads all three too: `cfg` (`apiUrl` defaults from `cfg.httpPort`),
`swarmDomain` (`gatewayHost`'s default) and `deployCfg` (`apiUrl` reads
`deployCfg.matrix.enable`). All three are option reads, so each file binds
them from `config.services.hyperhive.*`. Nothing is duplicated.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged
apart from the comment above `deploy.matrix`, which now names the file
`swarm.matrix` lives in.

`swarm.authelia` (what the SSO provider is to every hive: ports, domain,
`url`, the OIDC client register, the published names and the bridge's
address) moves to nix/host-modules/swarm-authelia-service.nix. Everything
else -- the `deploy.authelia` options, the whole `config` block including
`containers.swarm-authelia`, and the helpers only they read -- stays in
nix/host-modules/swarm-authelia.nix, which default.nix now imports
alongside the new file.
Both halves read four `let` bindings. `cfg`, `swarmDomain` and `deployCfg`
are option reads, so each file binds them from `config`; the service file
has no `hyperhiveCfg`, so it spells the paths out, as
swarm-nats-service.nix does. `instance` and `unitName` are literals, not
options, so the service file carries its own copy of the two (`unit`'s
default reads `unitName`). `deployCfg` is in the service file only for
`bridgeUrl`'s default, which is moved as it is.
`hyperhiveDomain` had no reader and is dropped rather than carried into
either file.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged
apart from three comments that pointed "above"/"below" across the new
file boundary and now name the file. Authelia's container toplevel, the
host toplevel (with `c0re.hyperhiveFlake` pinned, since the flake source
path lands in /etc/hyperhive/serve.json), the `swarm.authelia` and
`deploy.authelia` values and option set, and the eleven
module-eval checks that enable authelia evaluate to the same derivations
before and after.

`swarm.victorialogs` (what the log store is to every hive: container name,
domain, port) moves to nix/host-modules/swarm-victorialogs-service.nix,
together with the only two helpers it reads, `swarmDomain` and
`domainBase`. Everything else -- the `deploy.victorialogs` options, the
whole `config` block including `containers.swarm-victorialogs`, the file
header and the helpers only they read (`swarmAuthRequest` among them) --
stays in nix/host-modules/swarm-victorialogs.nix, which default.nix now
imports alongside the new file.
`hyperhiveCfg` (an alias for `config.services.hyperhive`, not an option) is
read by both halves, so it is duplicated into the service file rather than
shared.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged
apart from the comment above the `deploy.victorialogs` options, which now
names the file `swarm.victorialogs` lives in. Fixtures enabling the store
evaluate to the same host and container toplevel derivations before and
after.

`swarm.victoriametrics` (what the metrics store is to every hive: container
name, domain, port) moves to nix/host-modules/swarm-victoriametrics-service.nix,
together with the only two helpers it reads, `swarmDomain` and `domainBase`.
Everything else -- the `deploy.victoriametrics` options, the whole `config`
block including `containers.swarm-victoriametrics`, the file header and the
helpers only they read -- stays in nix/host-modules/swarm-victoriametrics.nix,
which default.nix now imports alongside the new file.
`hyperhiveCfg` (an alias for `config.services.hyperhive`, not an option) is
read by both halves, so it is duplicated into the service file rather than
shared.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged
apart from the comment above the `deploy.victoriametrics` options, which now
names the file `swarm.victoriametrics` lives in. Fixtures enabling the store
evaluate to the same host and container toplevel derivations before and
after.

glue-swarm-bao-otel-oidc-client.nix:34 still pointed clientId's
declaration at ./swarm-bao.nix after the split moved it to
./swarm-bao-service.nix. Line 17, which points the config block's
deploy.bao.enable gate at ./swarm-bao.nix, is unchanged -- that part
stayed.
`swarm.bao` (what the secret store is to every hive: container name,
domain, UI domain and OIDC client, port, collector client id and
telemetry port) moves to nix/host-modules/swarm-bao-service.nix, together
with `domainBase`, the only helper it reads besides `cfg`. Everything
else -- the `deploy.bao` options, the removed-option import, the whole
`config` block including `containers.swarm-bao`, and the helpers only
they read -- stays in nix/host-modules/swarm-bao.nix, which default.nix
now imports alongside the new file.
Both halves read `cfg` (`swarm.bao.ui.oidc.redirectUri` defaults from
`cfg.ui.domain`; the config block reads `cfg` throughout). It is an
option read, so each file binds it from `config.services.hyperhive.swarm.bao`.
The service file has no `hyperhiveCfg`, so its `swarmDomain` reads
`config.services.hyperhive.swarm.domain` directly, as
swarm-nats-service.nix does.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged
apart from the comment above `deploy.bao`, which now names the file
`swarm.bao` lives in, and the pointer in swarm-nats-service.nix to the
`domainBase` rationale, which moved with it.

`swarm.grafana` (what the metrics UI is to every hive: container name,
domain, metrics port, OIDC client) moves to
nix/host-modules/swarm-grafana-service.nix, together with `domainBase`,
the only helper it reads besides `cfg`. Everything else -- the
`deploy.grafana` options, the whole `config` block including
`containers.swarm-grafana`, and the helpers only they read -- stays in
nix/host-modules/swarm-grafana.nix, which default.nix now imports
alongside the new file.
Both halves read `cfg` (`swarm.grafana.oidc.redirectUri` defaults from
`cfg.domain`; the config block reads `cfg` throughout). It is an option
read, so each file binds it from `config.services.hyperhive.swarm.grafana`.
The service file has no `hyperhiveCfg`, so its `swarmDomain` reads
`config.services.hyperhive.swarm.domain` directly, as
swarm-nats-service.nix does.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged
apart from the two comments on either side of the cut, which now name the
file the other half lives in.

`swarm.nats` (what the queue is to every hive: domain, ports, client id)
moves to nix/host-modules/swarm-nats-service.nix, together with the only
two helpers it reads, `swarmDomain` and `domainBase`. Everything else --
the `deploy.nats` options, the whole `config` block including
`containers.swarm-nats`, and the helpers only they read -- stays in
nix/host-modules/swarm-nats.nix, which default.nix now imports alongside
the new file.
A pure move: option paths, option definitions and config are unchanged
apart from the transition comment above `deploy.nats`, which now names the
file `swarm.nats` lives in. The nats fixtures evaluate to the same host and
container toplevel derivations before and after.
Refs #3742
The swarm collector's journald receiver read only the units listed in
`services.hyperhive.swarm.otel.journaldUnits`. A unit nobody listed
never reached the store, and a misspelt entry shipped nothing without
an error. The list existed to keep an operator's desktop session out of
a store every swarm operator can read, but the receiver can only match
positively, so the only way to express "not user sessions" was to name
every service instead.
The receiver now reads the whole host journal, and a new
`filter/exclude-user-sessions` processor in the `logs/<swarm>` pipeline
drops records whose `_SYSTEMD_SLICE` is `user-<uid>.slice` (session
scopes and `user@<uid>.service`). The per-hive `logs/<hive>` pipelines
carry agent-container journals only and get no filter.
`journaldUnits` is removed with `mkRemovedOptionModule`, together with
its non-empty assertion and the entry each host module added. The four
module-eval membership checks go with it, replaced by one structural
case in swarm-otel-core.
Closes#3646
An ACP agent's `usage_update` carries `cost.{amount,currency}`, the
session's running total (opencode sums every assistant message in the
session). hive-runtime now reads it and turns the running total into
what each report added: a new session counts from zero, a session loaded
into a freshly started agent only baselines on its first report, and a
falling total adds nothing. The spend is held on the runtime until
`Runtime::take_reported_cost` drains it; claude's runtime reports none,
since the claude binary already exports `claude_code.cost.usage`.
hive-agent's existing turn-metrics meter records three new instruments:
- `hyperhive.agent.cost.usage` (counter, `model` + `currency`), ACP only;
- `hyperhive.agent.context.used` / `.size` (gauges, no attributes), for
every backend: the two numbers the web UI's ctx% divides.
The `hyperhive · agents` dashboard gets ACP cost panels on its cost tab
and a context-fill panel on its health tab.
