The trailer computed shown as page * rows-on-this-page, so a short last
page (page 27 of 1331 rows at 50/page, 31 rows) was counted as 837 of
1331 and printed a hint to fetch page 28. A page whose unclamped row
offset lands exactly on the total is now recognised as the last one, so
the trailer stays silent there. Shown is also clamped to the total.
The forge clamps page_size to 50. branches, pr reviews, the review
bodies merged into `comments <pr>`, and view's comment list each sent
one request, so anything past the first page was dropped silently.
labels::repo_labels did loop, but asked for 100/page and stopped on
`len < 100`, so a clamped full page of 50 ended the walk.
Add verbs::all_pages: requests 50/page until a short page, capped at
50 pages with a stderr warning when the cap is hit. Use it in all of
the above; repo-labels now calls labels::repo_labels instead of its
own copy of the loop.
list --json now prints the same "N of M shown" stderr trailer as the
pretty output; its paging and stdout shape are unchanged.
Closes#5051
hive-forge and hivectl doc-comment strings for pr-create --label, diff
--full, list --label, ci-runs --branch, and several hivectl subcommand
options read as if things happened to themselves. Name the actor (hivectl,
hive-forge, or the CLI) instead, and regenerate the three docs/tools/*-cli.md
files from the rebuilt binaries.
swarmctl-cli.md needs no source change: its only passive hit is
clap-markdown's own generated boilerplate, out of scope here.
Forgejo's issue-list endpoint answers 'was this merged?' only inside the
nested pull_request object, while state says closed for a merged PR and
for one closed without merging alike. So the obvious top-level query is
null or ambiguous for every row, and with a // default it renders as a
confident 'nothing merged' that cannot ever be right -- a wrong answer
shaped exactly like a clean one.
Copy merged and merged_at up to the top level of each PR row so the
obvious query is the correct one. Additive: the nested object is left
untouched so an existing consumer keeps working, and issue rows have no
pull_request and pass through unchanged.
The head branch is deliberately not hoisted: this endpoint does not carry
it at all -- the row's ref is an empty string, not the branch -- so there
is nothing to lift. pr show has head_branch.
A filter value the forge cannot resolve is DISCARDED, not rejected, so a
typo does not narrow the result set -- it returns the unfiltered one.
That does not waste a query, it inverts the answer: "is anything open in
this milestone" comes back as every open issue and reads as yes, and a
duplicate check gets a list that never narrowed.
`list` now resolves both before querying. Labels reuse the write side's
resolver; the ids are discarded because this endpoint filters by name, so
resolution here is a spell-check rather than a lookup -- reusing it keeps
the message identical to the one the write side has always produced.
Milestones accept a title or an id and are checked against the ALL-state
set: filtering on a closed milestone is a normal query, and validating
against open-only would reject exactly the retrospective ones.
Both fetchers paginate. `repo_labels` asked for one page of 100 and
treated it as the population -- the inverse of the trailer bug, same
root: a valid label past the cut fails to resolve, and the error then
prints an "available labels" list that is itself truncated, so the
message argues for the typo.
`--assignee` / `--author` stay unvalidated on purpose: someone who has
left still legitimately appears on old issues, so a login that is not a
current member is not necessarily a typo.
Also drops the docs paragraph claiming unknown labels are silently
dropped on the write side; that has not been true since the resolver
landed.
`list` already built its query with `q: None, milestones: None` — both
fields were on the request it was sending. So full-text search over
title and body is a flag, not a new verb, and a text match is only
useful composed with the other filters anyway.
The trailer was the real defect. It fired on `count == limit`, but the
forge clamps page size to its own `api.MAX_RESPONSE_ITEMS`: ask for 400,
get a full 50, and `50 != 400` kept it silent — suppressing the warning
in precisely the case where the truncation is invisible. It now reports
the real total from `X-Total-Count`, which the response header struct
already parsed and the call site discarded. The requested limit is not
clamped client-side: that ceiling is the remote's configuration, not
ours.
Continue trimming clap arg help to user-relevant info: drop the
token-bounded-paging rationale (list --page), the why-it's-required
note (lint no-reviewer), the `Forgejo Do:`/`force_merge` API internals
(pr-merge), and tighten diff --full. pr-status was already clean.
Forgejo 15 has no REST endpoint to download an Actions artifact — the
only path is the web UI download route, which is keyed by the run's
global id rather than the per-repo run number shown in run-page URLs.
The REST artifacts list route keys off the run number instead, so the
two can't be chained directly.
artifact-get takes the run number (what pr-status surfaces as a CI
context target_url), translates it to the global run id via the REST
runs list by matching each run's html_url tail, then GETs the web
download route with the agent's forge token. Saves the artifact zip to
a path (default /tmp/forge-artifact-<name>.zip) or streams to stdout
with -o -.
The artifact name is percent-encoded into the path. The encoder that
list already used for query-string filters is promoted to a shared
verbs::pct_encode helper so both call sites stay in sync.
Lets an agent pull a CI-built artifact (e.g. a paper PDF) into /shared
without host access.
Clean the legacy backlog so the tracker-tag lint can become a required
gate (mara's warn-during-cleanup -> full-tree-enforcement path). Rewrite
the ~33 real `closes/see #NNN` provenance refs in doc-comments to prose
across hive-forge, hive-c0re, hive-ag3nt, hive-matrix-mcp, hive-sh4re,
and add a `lint:allow` line marker to check-issue-refs.sh for genuine
non-tracker `#<digits>` (a hash-digit heading-detection test input).
Tree is now lint-clean; tracker-tag lint ready to promote to required.
Add `hivectl gateway {create-user,delete-user,list-users}` subcommands for
managing htpasswd files used by gateway Basic auth. Pure Rust bcrypt
(cost 12, $2y$ prefix nginx accepts). No external htpasswd binary required.
Also fix the NixOS module assertion: `cfg.auth ? htpasswdFile` is always
true in the module system (declared options always exist as keys); switch
to `nullOr path; default = null` + `!= null` check so the assertion
actually fires with a useful error when enable=true but no file is set.
Guard bind-mount and nginx config against null to prevent eval errors.
Update docs/gateway.md to show hivectl commands instead of raw htpasswd.
All crates now pass `cargo clippy --workspace -- -D warnings` cleanly.
Fixes span six crates (hive-sh4re, hive-ag3nt, hive-c0re, hive-forge,
hive-priv, hive-matrix-mcp was already clean):
- doc_markdown: wrap snake_case, type names, constants in backticks
- collapsible_if / collapsible_match: fold nested ifs into let-chains
- duration_suboptimal_units: Duration::from_secs(N) → from_mins/from_hours
- implicit_hasher: allow on HashMap-param fns where generalization is risky
- items_after_statements: hoist use to function tops
- map(f).unwrap_or(x) → map_or(x, f); map(f).unwrap_or_else(g) → map_or_else
- is_ok_and / is_none_or in place of map().unwrap_or(bool)
- needless_continue: {} instead of continue in loop match arms
- match_same_arms: Ok(None) | Err(_) merged
- format_push_str: write!() instead of push_str(&format!())
- while let replaces loop { let Some(..) = x else { break } }
- struct_excessive_bools / dead_code: allow on purpose-built structs
- too_many_lines / too_many_arguments: allow where refactor not worth it
- unused_async: remove async from poll_once in bash_runner
- needless_borrow: fix &repo deref in hive-forge comments verb
- cast_possible_truncation: allow u64→usize in fetch_tail

mara: 'those comments seem very redundant'. true — the 16 pure-GET
verbs all got the same 'transport error + stdout I/O' boilerplate,
which just restates the Result<()> contract that's trivially
derivable from the type.
dropped # Errors from: assign, branches, close, comment_show,
comments, diff, issue, labels, lint, list, milestone, pr,
pr_reviews, subscription, timeline, tree_sha, view (17 files).
kept on the 7 verbs that have a non-Forgejo failure surface worth
documenting:
- comment, comment_edit, issue_create, issue_edit — body input I/O
via --body-file / stdin
- pr_create — body input + --push shellout to git
- attach::run_issue, attach::run_comment — explicit bail! on
missing file
net: 23 verbs touched in the original PR → 17 trimmed back to
no-doc, 6 kept (with the 7th call being attach::run_comment in the
same file). 38 tests still pass.
systemic gap argus flagged on PR #798 (timeline verb). every `pub fn
run` in hive-forge/src/verbs/*.rs lacked a `# Errors` block —
violates Rust API guidelines + obscures the failure surface for
operators reading the source.
uniform doc per verb category:
- pure GET + print verbs: "transport error from the Forgejo REST call
+ I/O error from stdout"
- body-from-file verbs (comment/comment_edit/issue_create/issue_edit/
pr_create): adds 'I/O error from --body-file/stdin input'
- file-upload verbs (attach-issue, attach-comment): adds 'file
read/exist check'
- pr_create: also mentions the --push shellout
23 `pub fn run` signatures touched. no behaviour change; pure
documentation sweep. cargo test green (38 tests).
