55f01942a2 docs, prompts, hive-forge: stop handing readers the renamed verbs
docs/tools/forge.md already listed the nine renamed verbs as removed, then
used them ~30 more times in pasteable blocks. Sweeps every occurrence a
reader would type, including three runtime messages that told the user to
run a verb the same binary rejects.

The renamed-verb list itself keeps the old names; it is what documents them.

17554ea563 fix: sync generated hive-forge CLI docs with their clap source strings
Same bug as the swarmctl/hivectl fix, a third instance argus's review
didn't name but nix/checks.nix's hive-forge-docs freshness check (same
pattern as hivectl-docs/swarmctl-docs) caught in CI: the earlier
Contractions/Foreign/Auto batches edited docs/tools/forge-cli.md
directly instead of the clap #[arg(...)]/doc-comment strings in
hive-forge/src/main.rs and hive-forge/src/verbs/*.rs.

Applied the same 13 wording changes to source that the earlier commits
already made to the generated .md, matched 1:1 against
'git diff origin/main HEAD -- docs/tools/forge-cli.md' rather than
guessed. Several source doc comments feed two rendered sections each
(e.g. reaction.rs's one Add-variant doc renders under both
'issue reaction add' and 'pr reaction add', since both subcommands
share the same enum) -- one source fix, two generated-doc fixes.

Regenerated from the now-fixed source and confirmed byte-identical to
what's already committed (diff exit 0) -- source and generated output
are back in sync, same as the swarmctl/hivectl fix.

cargo clippy -p hive-forge --all-targets -- -D warnings and
scripts/check-doc-refs.sh both clean.

529e9416c1 hive-forge: say which flat forms were removed and which are staying
`docs/tools/forge.md` said the flat forms "still work as hidden
back-compat aliases" and named `pr-create` and `pr-status` as its
examples. Both refuse now: nine flat verbs parse only far enough to
print the namespaced form that replaced them.

The doc had no way to be read correctly, because the seven that do still
work are hidden too and `--help` shows neither group. Naming the split
here is the only place the difference is visible.

At the enum the kind-agnostic seven now read as staying rather than as
"still work", and `credential-helper` is marked as belonging to neither
group: it is hidden because git invokes it, so a sweep reading
`hide = true` as "deprecated" would remove checkout auth.

0824caaa2b hive-forge: two more pure renames say what replaced them
Second round for the flat-alias deprecation. `pr-commits` and
`pr-assign-reviewer` are back-compat aliases with an exact scoped
equivalent, and they were missed by all three buckets of the original
accounting -- which was wrong in both terms: `reopen`/`dependency`/
`reaction` appear only in the doc-comment prose listing the scoped
surface and are not Verb variants at all, so the real count is 17
(7 + 2 + 7 + 1), not 18.

The test for "pure rename" is that an exact scoped form exists AND the
verb is PR-only, so a caller holding just a number can be sent somewhere
unambiguous. Verified rather than assumed: `pr commits` and
`pr assign-reviewer` exit 0, while `issue commits` and
`issue assign-reviewer` exit 2 -- the same code a deliberately bogus
verb returns, which is what makes those 2s mean "no such verb".

That is also why the seven kind-agnostic aliases are untouched here:
each exists as both `issue <verb>` and `pr <verb>`, so refusing them
would remove a capability rather than rename one.

Both run functions are still called from pr_cmd.rs, so nothing becomes
dead code. The enum's block comment enumerates the pure renames by name
and is extended to match -- left alone it would be a stale claim naming
seven of nine.

e0c2f1aeaa hive-forge: die by SIGPIPE like every other CLI in a pipeline
Rust's runtime sets SIGPIPE to SIG_IGN at startup, so writing to a pipe
whose reader has gone away returns EPIPE and println! panics. `hive-forge
<verb> | head` printed a panic and exited 101 where cat, grep and every
other pipeline member exit quietly.

101 is not cosmetic: to a caller running `set -o pipefail` it is a real
failure, so a shell script that pipes our output stops on a condition
that is not an error.

Restore SIG_DFL first thing in main, before any output. Measured against
the same command: piped to head, 141 (killed by the signal) with empty
stderr; unpiped, 0; the pre-change binary, 101 with a panic.

f293454df9 hive-forge: the renamed flat verbs now say what replaced them
Seven hidden aliases are pure renames — `pr status` does exactly what
`pr-status` did. They now refuse and name the replacement instead of
running, which is the deprecation step before removing them outright.

Deliberately not all of the hidden verbs. The other ten (`view`,
`comment`, `comments`, `close`, `reopen`, `assign`, `labels`, `timeline`,
`dependency`, `reaction`) exist as BOTH `issue <verb>` and `pr <verb>`,
so a caller holding only a number cannot be told which to run. Refusing
those removes a capability rather than renaming one, and there is no
message that would help; they keep working pending a decision on what
replaces them.

Measured: each of the seven exits 1 naming its replacement; `view` still
exits 0; `pr status` still returns its merge-readiness verdict (0 on a
ready PR, 1 on one with CI pending).

06e8a9a09e Fix nix references in prose that no longer resolve
Nine of the 38 .nix tokens mentioned anywhere in *.rs did not name
anything that exists. Twelve mentions, five distinct targets:
hive-c0re.nix, hive-gateway.nix and hive-forge.nix are all directories
now; nix/modules/ is not a directory we have; hive-forge-tools.nix was
a bash script the binary replaced and is gone.

Where the reference is load-bearing it is corrected rather than
deleted, because the reference is the point: a comment saying a
constant must match a nix literal is only useful if you can open the
file it names. Where the module member was unambiguous the path now
names it exactly.

paths.rs's STATE_ROOT marker was the worst of them: it claimed the
value came from services.hyperhive.c0re.statePath, in hive-c0re.nix.
Neither exists. The option is not declared anywhere and the file is a
directory, so a "must match" contract pointed at two things that
cannot be opened. /var/lib/hyperhive is hardcoded on both sides, which
is what the comment now says.

hive-forge-tools.nix keeps no replacement: naming a file that was
deliberately deleted helps nobody, and "replaces a prior bash script"
is complete without it.

Measured before and after with the same command: 9 unresolved of 38
before, 4 of 35 after. The remaining four are an example path in a doc
comment, an upstream nixpkgs path, and two from one synthetic test
fixture.

d2dc681fcf hive-forge: attach the resolved repo to every verb's error
Wraps the whole verb dispatch in run() with .with_context(|| format!("repo {repo}"))
instead of threading context through ~34 individual verb files. A body-decode
failure surfaces from forgejo-api as a bare ReqwestError with no status code or
URL retained (no client-injection point to capture more), so without this the
error alone can't distinguish a mistyped org/repo from a transient flake — see
the recent hive-forge triage-automation thread this was filed from.

Split run()'s match into a dispatch() fn so the repo can be captured once before
dispatching and the with_context wrap applied once after, uniformly, regardless
of which verb failed.

1356a1f049 fix(#2624): make hive-forge failures unmistakable on stderr
`fn main() -> Result<()>` let anyhow's Debug impl render failures with a
bare `Error:` header. hive-forge is almost always invoked from an agent's
bash task, where the completion wake points at the task's .out file - so a
failure that only writes to .err is easy to miss entirely (mara's "had no
clue it failed" on #2624).

Wrap the dispatch in a run() and own the failure path in main():
- prefix with the binary name (`hive-forge: FAILED: ...`) so the line is
unmistakably ours in a mixed transcript,
- render with {:#} (alternate Display), which keeps the full context chain
inline - plain Display would have dropped every `.context()` below the
  top one,
- return ExitCode::FAILURE explicitly rather than relying on the Termination
  impl.

Half of #2624: the other half (surfacing .err in the bash-mcp completion
when a task exits non-zero) is damocles's, per the issue thread.

c64136d094 docs(#2671): trim hive-forge top-level + global-option help
Drop implementation mechanics from the `--help` surface, keep only
what a user needs to run the command:

- global `-r`/`-f`/`--json`: remove token-file paths, the bash-helper
history, and the "already-JSON verbs ignore --json" aside.
- verb `about` strings (repo-create/repo-labels/repo-search/artifact-get/
  ci-log/ci-rerun/pr-commits): drop which-API / "no REST endpoint" /
  web-route / workflow-dispatch internals and cross-refs.

Per-verb arg help (verbs/*.rs) trimmed in follow-up commits.

8e58793f79 hive-forge: add -f/--forge <label> selector for external forge accounts
Targets a dashboard-provisioned external forge account (FORGES tab)
instead of the internal forge: resolves `forge-<label>-token` for the
token and `forge-<label>.json`'s base_url for the URL, the same two
files dashboard/extra_forges.rs writes, instead of
HIVE_FORGE_URL/forge-token. Falls back to today's behavior when unset.
Orthogonal to -r/--repo.

An unknown label gives a clear error listing the labels actually found
in the state dir instead of a raw file-not-found. The base_url JSON key
is read via a typed sidecar struct pinned to what extra_forges.rs
writes, so the read side can't silently drift from the write side.

cd4bdf4eea feat(#1778): add hive-forge ci-rerun to re-run CI without an empty commit
When a CI run fails for a transient reason (remote-builder flap, cold-daemon
window, act_runner hiccup) the only retrigger path was an empty commit, which
litters PR history and forces a force-push to clean up. This verb POSTs the
rerun action directly.

- `ci-rerun --run <n>` re-runs all jobs of a run (run number = the `runs/<n>`
the UI shows, same value ci-log / artifact-get take, surfaced as a CI
  context's target_url by pr-status).
- `--pr <n>` resolves the run from the PR head sha's CI status target_url.
- `--job <i>` re-runs a single job.

Forgejo exposes no REST endpoint for rerunning a run, so this rides the run
page's web routes (`<base>/<owner>/<repo>/actions/runs/<n>[/jobs/<i>]/rerun`)
via a new `Client::post_web_no_content` (web base like post_json_web, tolerates
the redirect/empty response the rerun handler returns). Mirrors ci-log's
web-route approach + auth path.

docs/tools/forge.md updated with the verb.

156ca70b1e feat(#1888): read-before-comment guard via forge notification read-state
Rebuild on forge's own notification read-state instead of the local
seen-cursor mirror (operator-nacked: mirrors state forge owns + drifts
on restart).

- comment refuses to post when forge has an unread notification for the
thread (someone commented since you last read it); --force overrides.
Degrades open if the notification check itself fails.
- comments / view mark the thread's notification read (the "I've seen
it" signal), clearing the guard for a subsequent reply.
- new crate::notify (no local file): unread_thread_id pages repo-scoped
  unread notifications (newest-first, capped) + subject-url number match;
  mark_thread_read via the new client.patch_no_content.

Pairs with the forge_notify harness change (#1895, merged) that leaves
delivered notifications unread until the agent actually reads. Covers
pr/issue comment too (they delegate to comment::run).

dc4c5460d5 feat(#1877): restructure hive-forge into pr/issue sub-verbs
Group issue/PR operations under `pr` and `issue` parent commands
(`hive-forge pr close 42`, `issue create …`, `pr status --pr 42`) per the
operator decision — kind-namespaced verbs replace the flat surface.

- new `verbs::pr_cmd` / `verbs::issue_cmd` parent commands wrap the existing
per-verb modules (reuse their Args + run fns) under `#[command(subcommand)]`.
- kind-validation (the win over the old generic verbs): the generics that work
  on both (view/comment/comments/close/labels/assign/timeline) call
  `assert_kind` first, so `pr close <issue>` / `issue close <pr>` are rejected
with a 'use the other command' message. PR-only / issue-only verbs are
kind-correct by construction. `number` exposed `pub(crate)` on the shared
verbs so the wrappers can probe it.
- every flat kind verb (`close`, `pr-create`, `pr-status`, `issue-edit`, …)
  kept as a `#[command(hide = true)]` back-compat alias — still parses, dropped
from --help; removed in a later sweep once usage migrates. (`pr`/`issue`
  bare-show become `pr show` / `issue show` — the names are now parents.)
- docs/tools/forge.md documents the new surface + the deprecated aliases.

cargo build/clippy/fmt clean, 54 tests pass; --help surface + alias parsing
smoke-tested.

5a06d1156b hive-forge: add repo-labels verb to list a repo's full label set

e6f9679ec9 hive-forge: add issues/issue-list discovery aliases for the list verb
The verb that lists issues/PRs with filters is `list`, but `issues` and
`issue-list` are the names people reach for first — and clap's
"did you mean" tip points at `issue` / `issue-create`, never at `list`.
Two agents independently failed to find it that way.

Add `issues` and `issue-list` as visible clap aliases so the verb is
discoverable under the names people actually type (and they show in
`--help`). No behaviour change; `list` stays canonical.

6490fc422e feat(hive-forge): add artifact-get verb to download CI run artifacts
Forgejo 15 has no REST endpoint to download an Actions artifact — the
only path is the web UI download route, which is keyed by the run's
global id rather than the per-repo run number shown in run-page URLs.
The REST artifacts list route keys off the run number instead, so the
two can't be chained directly.

artifact-get takes the run number (what pr-status surfaces as a CI
context target_url), translates it to the global run id via the REST
runs list by matching each run's html_url tail, then GETs the web
download route with the agent's forge token. Saves the artifact zip to
a path (default /tmp/forge-artifact-<name>.zip) or streams to stdout
with -o -.

The artifact name is percent-encoded into the path. The encoder that
list already used for query-string filters is promoted to a shared
verbs::pct_encode helper so both call sites stay in sync.

Lets an agent pull a CI-built artifact (e.g. a paper PDF) into /shared
without host access.

- Methods: merge (default) | rebase. Squash is intentionally not offered.
- Deletes the head branch after merge unless --keep-branch.
- Safe by default: refuses unless the PR is mergeable, CI is not red, and no
review's current verdict requests changes (latest-per-reviewer wins, so a
later approval clears an earlier request-changes). --force overrides and
  also sets Forgejo's force_merge.

8f9866f5e1 hive-forge: timeline verb — issue/PR audit trail (closes #783)
last unstarted piece of the original #694 epic. agents kept falling
back to curl for 'who closed this?' / 'when was this labelled?'
archaeology because view + comments only surface the body + comments,
not the structured timeline events (label adds, assignments, closes,
reopens, pushes, commit refs, review submissions, milestone changes).

separate verb rather than view --timeline because:
- composes naturally with view <n> / comments <n>
- keeps existing verb output shapes stable (no script breakage)
- argus on #770 already noted view's output is busy

human-readable by default ('**actor @ ts**: <summary>'), --json for
raw piping. unknown event types fall through to a '[<type>]'
placeholder so a forge schema bump doesn't panic the verb.

--tail N is a follow-up: timeline endpoint doesn't expose a total-count
field so the count-then-page strategy from #770 doesn't apply
directly.

6 tests cover comment / label add/remove / close / unknown-type
placeholder / missing-user fallback.
