Y3R C4LL is the operator inbox alone: no P3NDING APPR0VALS section, no
approval cards or history, no approval_resolved subscription, no
approval browser notifications, and the tab count and title prefix count
unread operator messages only. The H0M3 tile text drops "approvals".
The deny form was the only data-prompt form, so bindAsyncForms' prompt
branch, themedPrompt and its dialog styles go too, along with the
approval-only CSS (.approval*, .approvals-history, .btn-deny, the
status/glyph colours and .history-note).
The tab lists the rows left in the hive's store so the operator can
recreate them with `swarmctl schedule add`: no create row, edit form,
fire/pause/cancel buttons or schedules_changed subscription. The next
column shows the stored next fire time as an absolute UTC timestamp (the
value for --at) instead of a countdown. A warning banner says the page is
slated for removal and points at swarmctl. The approvals view drops the
schedule_prompt card and the approval_added subscription.
An operator's merge on the forge deploys a config PR through
swarm-controller's DeployRequest{rev}. The hive-side path that queued a
MergeConfigPr approval and merged the PR as `core` goes:
- the `/webhook/config-pr` receiver, its HMAC secret, the WebhookRegister
boot node and the org-hook registration; the hive vhost's `/webhook/`
location
- the 5-minute config-PR poll
- ApprovalKind::MergeConfigPr, its dashboard card, and the deploy DAG it
drove (DeployWindow, MergeVerify, DeployApply, FinalizeDeploy,
DeployTail), with verify_commit, the two-phase meta deploy, rollback
refs, the PR-failure comment and forge/pr_merge.rs
- `fetched_sha`, `sha_short`/`pr_number` on approval events, and
`sha`/`tag` on HelperEvent::ApprovalResolved: only the merge path set
them
`config_repo`, `merged_pr_for_commit` and `post_pr_comment` move to
forge/pr_comment.rs for the merged-rev deploy's refusal comment.
Approvals v5 drops stored `merge_config_pr` rows; a test reopens a v4
database holding them.
Closes#4850
swarm-controller's POST /api/agents now refuses (409) a name the swarm
has already placed on a different hive: a non-Destroyed declaration in
that hive's wanted state, or a SetAgentWanted node still queued for it.
The same name on the same hive is that agent being re-created and goes
through. A wanted state that cannot be read refuses (503/500) instead of
reading as "placed nowhere". Creations are serialised from that read to
the graph insert so two concurrent creations of one name cannot both
pass.
Hive-level creation is removed: hivectl `agent create` / `request-create`,
HostRequest::Spawn / RequestSpawn, the dashboard POST /api/request-spawn
route, and ApprovalKind::Spawn with its approve/resolve arms and the
approval-carrying `templates::spawn`. The swarm path (deploy request or
wanted-state sweep -> queue_first_deploy -> templates::first_deploy) used
none of them. Old `spawn` approval rows are skipped by collect_lenient,
as `init_config` rows were in a3b672d1.
policy.rs's comment on agent_object_name stated swarm-wide name
uniqueness as a fact; it now says where it is enforced and what that
check cannot see.
Refs #4396
swarm-controller's `InitAgentConfigRepo` node already covers config-repo
creation, so this deletes a duplicate rather than a capability; old
`init_config` rows are skipped by `collect_lenient` with no migration, by
operator decision.
Refs #4398
docs/web-ui.md duplicated the web-ui/ directory name at the top level --
the only such collision in docs/ (every other subsystem has just a
directory, no sibling <dir>.md file). That's exactly why it rendered
outside the directory structure in the docs site nav (mara's report,
hyperhive#4054): the site build walks docs/ generically with no
special-casing, so a loose top-level file next to a same-named
directory shows up as its own flat top-level entry instead of nesting
under that directory's section.
web-ui.md's own first paragraph already said as much -- 'This doc has
been split for readability... start at web-ui/README.md instead.' It
was a leftover pointer from before the split, not a page carrying
unique content on its own merit.
Folded its two sections web-ui/README.md didn't already have (the
swarm-ui design-guide link, and the task-oriented 'reading paths'
quick-lookup list) into web-ui/README.md's existing 'More depth'
section, then deleted the stray file and repointed every real
reference at it: 3 in-tree doc cross-links, 3 doc prose mentions
(retargeted to the more specific dashboard.md/shape.md sub-page each
one was actually about), and ~28 frontend source comments
(dashboard/agent/shared packages) that cited it as
'docs/web-ui.md::<heading>' for implementation context -- retargeted
each to whichever of dashboard.md/shape.md/agent.md actually carries
that heading now, verified against each file's real heading list
rather than guessed.
Verified via scripts/check-doc-refs.sh (the same lint CI runs): 0 dead
pointers, both before write (confirming the tree was clean beforehand)
and after (confirming nothing broke).
Pure `nix fmt` output from the commit before this one — no hand edits.
203 files: 52 md, 42 tsx, 32 js, 32 css, 21 ts, 13 html, 8 json, 3 mjs.
Reproduce with `nix develop -c nix fmt` on the parent commit; the result
should be byte-identical to this tree.
None of the 13 `.prettierignore` entries appears here — verified by
intersecting the changed-file list against the ignore file, with a
control proving the intersection finds a match when one exists.
Frontend half of removing hive-level agent spawning (swarm-level
creation now covers it, and its forge-works confirmation just landed
in hive/hive-chat). Removes call.js's blank-name spawn-request form
(R3QU3ST SP4WN) and its now-orphaned .spawnform CSS.
Deliberately keeps core.js's tombstone-list revive action (R3V1V3) --
a different feature (respawn an *existing* agent, reusing its kept
state), not agent creation, and not what this issue asked to remove.
It happens to post to the same /api/request-spawn action with the
tombstone's own name pre-filled rather than a blank input.
Backend endpoint + wiring is a separate slice (damocles).
Adds services.hyperhive.forge.publicUrl (defaults to the gateway vhost
URL when behindGateway=true, null otherwise). HIVE_FORGE_PUBLIC_URL is
now sourced from it instead of hardcoding https://${forge.domain}
whenever behindGateway is on.
The 4 frontend call sites that built a forge link from
state.forge_public_url now hide the link when that's absent, rather
than guessing http://<browser-hostname>:3000 — a guess that's only
correct by accident once the operator isn't on plain localhost. Fixes
the dashboard H0M3 tile, per-agent-row forge links + agent menu, the
approval-queue PR link, and the per-agent page's own meta-nav forge
link (found during this pass, same defect, not in the original
3-site inventory).
Docs + doc-comments updated to match.
Per mara's review: '2 and maybe 1, but 3 also sounds reasonable on first
glance' (against 3 options I posted). Doing 2 and 1, leaving open()/
openNamed() as-is (option 3, tentative only).
Both dashboard/common.js and agent/app.js now export/use the
<hive-side-panel> element instance directly (sidePanel) instead of a
thin Panel = { open, openNamed, refresh, close } object that existed
purely to keep the old call-site shape unchanged. All 6 real call sites
updated to call the element's own methods directly.
The .side-panel-body class each wrapper stamped onto its own instance,
purely so common.css/agent.css's pre-existing content-styling selectors
kept matching, is gone too -- those selectors now use the element's own
tag name as the root (hive-side-panel .md, hive-side-panel .agent-inbox),
which already uniquely identifies the light-DOM instance without a
compatibility class. Verified via headless Chromium/CDP that the
tag-name selectors resolve correctly with no class needed.
Drive-by: removed an unrelated dead Panel import in call.js.
The dashboard has a themed modal/dialog system (modal.js: themedToast/
themedConfirm/themedPrompt) and a data-async form submit interceptor
(bindAsyncForms) that every dashboard action routes through. The
per-agent UI never adopted either — it had its own more primitive
data-async handler using native window.confirm()/alert() (8 call
sites) and a duplicated el() DOM helper.
- Moved el() out of dashboard/common.js into shared/src/dom.js.
- Moved modal.js + modal.css from dashboard/src/ to shared/src/,
updating its internal el import.
- Moved bindAsyncForms from dashboard/common.js into shared/forms.js,
alongside the asyncBtn primitive it's built on.
- Updated every dashboard file's imports to the new shared locations
(no re-export shims).
- agent.css now @imports shared/modal.css so the dialogs render
themed there too.
- agent/app.js: dropped its local el()/data-async duplicate, wired
bindAsyncForms(), and replaced all 8 window.confirm() sites with
themedConfirm (async, wrapped in a fire-and-forget IIFE where the
call site needs a synchronous boolean return, e.g. the slash-command
dispatcher).
Closes hyperhive#2791. Verified with a full frontend build
(npm run build) — both dashboard and agent bundles compile clean and
agent.css picks up the .tc-* dialog styles it previously lacked.
Two operator-visible strings and one code comment still referenced 'the
manager' in the approval card UI:
- init_config card description: 'manager customises agent.nix before
spawn' -> 'submitting agent customises agent.nix before spawn'
- deny form data-prompt: 'sent to manager' -> 'sent to submitter'
(the deny note goes to the ApprovalResolved submitter, not a fixed
manager role)
- code comment: 'surfaced to the manager via' -> 'surfaced to the
submitting agent via'
- builds.html meta text: 'manager learns each outcome' -> 'the
submitting agent learns each outcome'
The 'manager' role is no longer structural — root-ness is topological.
Any agent with the approvals tool group can submit; the note/event routes
to the submitter.
Both kinds fell through to the spawn branch in renderApprovals, showing
a misleading 'spawn' chip and agent-spawn body text. Mara saw a meta-input
bump render as a spawn card for agent damocles and denied it.
Backend (dashboard.rs):
- Add commit_ref: None to the MergeConfigPr arm (struct was incomplete).
All arms of ApprovalView now initialise every field.
Frontend (call.js):
- Add isUpdateMeta / isSchedule booleans alongside the existing kind flags.
- Glyph: update_meta_inputs gets ↻, schedule_prompt gets ⏱.
- Kind chip: 'meta-update' / 'schedule' (no kind-spawn class for either).
- Body: update_meta_inputs parses commit_ref as JSON Vec<String> and shows
'bump flake inputs: foo, bar' or 'bump all flake inputs'; schedule_prompt
parses SchedulePromptPayload and shows targets + first-fire time + cadence
+ a truncated body excerpt.
- History row: add 'meta-update' and 'schedule' cases (were both 'spawn').
- Import fmtDuration from util.js (needed for schedule cadence display).
Completes the merge_config_pr approval-card link for live-added approvals.
The ApprovalAdded SSE event now carries pr_number (only for
merge_config_pr); applyApprovalAdded was dropping it, so a live-added
merge_config_pr card showed the sha but not the 'review PR on forge' link
until a cold /api/state reload. Carry pr_number through the same way as
sha_short.
renderApprovals had no merge_config_pr case, so those approvals
mis-rendered as generic spawn cards (spawn chip, no sha, 'container will
be created' body). Add a dedicated branch:
- distinct glyph + 'merge-pr' kind chip
- show the reviewed PR-head sha (sha_short), like apply_commit
- a 'review PR on forge' link built from pr_number (now on ApprovalView),
gated on forge_present, mirroring the apply_commit 'commit on forge' link
- no config-diff side-panel (apply_commit-only for now)
History rows get the 'merge-pr' chip too.
Phase 2 of the dashboard route consolidation. The backend now double-registers
every bare top-level route (approve/deny/kill/restart/start/rebuild/destroy/
update-all/answer-question/cancel-question/purge-tombstone/matrix-account-login/
cancel-reminder/retry-reminder/request-spawn/op-send/meta-update/dashboard-stream/
dashboard-history) at an additional /api/<same> path. Switch every dashboard-pkg
fetch / EventSource / form action to the /api/ form so "backend = /api/*" holds
on the frontend side too.
Bare paths still answer, so this is independently deployable; once it ships the
backend can drop the bare registrations (phase 3). webhook/knowledge stays a
distinct webhook prefix (forge-driven, no SPA caller). app.js's /rebuild,/start
are the agent harness UI (different server) and are untouched.
Part of #1846 (phase 2).
applyQuestionAdded / applyQuestionResolved (call.js) called
renderContainersFromState() to refresh the SW4RM rows' per-agent
question-count badges, but that's a tabs.js closure-local not in call.js's
scope — so the question_added / question_resolved SSE handlers threw
'ReferenceError: renderContainersFromState is not defined' and aborted.
Inject it as an onContainersDirty callback via initCall (same pattern as
onCountsChanged), wired by tabs.js to renderContainersFromState. Closes#1826.
renderQuestions (call.js) called snapshotOpenDetails()/restoreOpenDetails()
which are closure-locals in tabs.js (built on MANAGED_SECTION_IDS) and not in
call.js's module scope. On a /dashboard.html (Y3R C4LL tab) refresh this threw
'ReferenceError: snapshotOpenDetails is not defined' and aborted refreshState
entirely. Give call.js its own section-scoped snapshot/restore pair operating
on the questions-section root (the only section renderQuestions manages), so
open <details> state still survives an SSE re-render without reaching into
tabs.js internals.
Follow-up to the themed-modal component: route every remaining native
browser dialog through modal.js so nothing falls back to the OS chrome.
- modal.js: add themedPrompt (input dialog) + themedToast (non-blocking
transient notification, info/error/ok) alongside openDialog/themedConfirm.
- Migrate call sites: bindAsyncForms confirm/prompt/alerts (common.js),
the answer-validation alert (call.js), the M0V3 reparent confirm + action
toasts (tabs.js), and the schedule form/cancel/fire confirms + validation
and error alerts (schedules.js).
- UX: blocking modal for confirms/prompts; non-blocking toast for transient
errors + validation. Destructive confirms keep the danger styling.
- CSS for the toast stack + prompt input.
common.js <-> modal.js is a safe deferred import cycle (usage is call-time
only); esbuild bundles it clean.
Cosmetic follow-up to the Y3R C4LL extraction (argus nit on #1705): the
approvals + questions sections kept their original 2-space IIFE indentation
from tabs.js, which read as if they were inside a block and was inconsistent
with the unindented operator-inbox section + the other domain modules.
Uniform dedent — no logic change, build unaffected.
Final domain: move the operator question queue (questionRowCache, the
sync/apply/filter/fingerprint/buildQuestionLi/renderQuestions fns, formatTtl,
and the .q-ttl countdown ticker) from tabs.js into call.js. tabs.js imports
syncQuestionsFromSnapshot, applyQuestionAdded, applyQuestionResolved,
renderQuestions, and the activeQuestionCount getter; refreshTabCounts now
sums activeApprovalCount()+activeQuestionCount()+operatorInboxCount().
The .status-age (SW4RM) and .approval-ts/.reminder-due/.sched-due
(approvals+schedules) tickers stay in tabs.js — only the questions-specific
.q-ttl ticker moved. questionsState stays in state.js (shared with the SW4RM
badges). Behaviour-preserving; no visual change.
Net: tabs.js 2323 to 1603 lines; the Y3R C4LL pane now lives in call.js,
alongside permissions.js / schedules.js as a per-domain module.
Begin splitting the tabs.js monolith: lift the Y3R C4LL domain into a new
call.js module (mirrors permissions.js / schedules.js).
- questionsState + QUESTION_HISTORY_LIMIT move to state.js: they're read by
both the SW4RM container rows (per-agent question-count badges) and the
Y3R C4LL questions domain, so they're cross-domain shared state.
- operator-inbox domain (state + refresh/render/mark/append) → call.js.
- approvals domain (state + sync/apply/render/diff-panel/history) → call.js.
- call.js exposes count getters (activeApprovalCount, operatorInboxCount);
the entry's refreshTabCounts pulls them. Live-mutation paths call an
injected onCountsChanged callback (registered via initCall at boot)
instead of reaching into the coordinator (avoids a circular import).
- renderPeerHives, physically interleaved in the moved range but part of
the SW4RM/peers domain, stays in tabs.js.
Behaviour-preserving; no visual change. Questions domain follows next.
(Recreated after a harness-restart git-object corruption; identical content.)
