- Remove the two issue-number tags from Rust comments (tracker-tag lint).
- Correct the module doc: the durable download is keyed by the per-repo
run NUMBER + attempt segment (matches the code + persisted_logs doc),
not a global id — the earlier 'global id' wording was stale.
- Replace the fragile e.to_string().contains("out of range") branch with
a typed StreamerMiss enum (StepOutOfRange vs Unavailable), so a usage
error can never silently fall through to the persisted-log path if a
message string changes.
ci-log drove only the live run-view streamer (POST .../runs/<n>/jobs/<j>
with logCursors), which reads the live act_runner task record. Forgejo
prunes that record once a run completes, so the streamer 500s with
'task ... resource does not exist' on quick or older runs even though
the web UI still shows the logs — the reader (argus, atlas) then had to
ask the operator to relay the error.
Add a fallback: when the streamer errors or returns no lines, download
the persisted whole-job log via the same web route the run page's view-
raw-logs link uses, .../runs/<n>/jobs/<job>/attempt/<a>/logs, keyed by
the per-repo run number with the attempt segment. It survives the task
prune. Live and recent runs keep the rich per-step streamed view; only
the pruned case takes the flat fallback (where --step can't apply). New
--attempt flag (default 1) selects the run attempt for re-runs.
Verified against a real pruned run whose streamer 500'd: the fallback
prints the full persisted log; a completed short job ends cleanly at
'Job succeeded', confirming the route returns complete logs.
Address argus review on #1938's reopen verb: public fns returning Result
need a # Errors doc per the workspace convention. Document the patch_json
and print_json failure modes.
hive-forge had close but no reopen, so reopening required the non-obvious
workaround 'issue edit <n> --state open'. Add a reopen verb mirroring close
(PATCH state=open), wired into both 'pr reopen' (kind-checked PR) and
'issue reopen' (kind-checked issue). Updates docs/forge.md + the subcommand
enumerations.
The clap subcommand doc in main.rs still described the old web-route
implementation (--job, 'POSTs the rerun web action'), which surfaces in
hive-forge --help. Update it to match the workflow-dispatch rework.
The previous implementation POSTed Forgejo's run-page rerun web route,
which is CSRF-gated and answers a bare token POST with 404 — so the verb
never actually re-ran anything against the agent token.
Rework it to dispatch a fresh run of the workflow via the
GitHub-compatible workflow-dispatch API
(POST /repos/<o>/<r>/actions/workflows/<workflow>/dispatches {"ref":<branch>}),
which accepts a plain agent token (verified end-to-end on Forgejo 15.0.3).
A dispatched run is equivalent to the old empty-commit retrigger, minus
the commit.
The branch is resolved from exactly one of --pr (the PR head branch),
--run (branch + workflow looked up from that run in the Actions runs
list), or --branch (directly); --workflow picks the workflow file for
--pr/--branch (default ci.yml). Dispatch re-runs the whole workflow, so
the old --job single-job variant is dropped.
Also add workflow_dispatch to .forgejo/workflows/ci.yml for explicitness
(Forgejo 15.0.3 dispatches the pull_request workflow without it, but the
trigger makes the API path intent-clear and cross-version robust), remove
the now-unused Client::post_web_no_content, and update docs/tools/forge.md.
When a CI run fails for a transient reason (remote-builder flap, cold-daemon
window, act_runner hiccup) the only retrigger path was an empty commit, which
litters PR history and forces a force-push to clean up. This verb POSTs the
rerun action directly.
- `ci-rerun --run <n>` re-runs all jobs of a run (run number = the `runs/<n>`
the UI shows, same value ci-log / artifact-get take, surfaced as a CI
context's target_url by pr-status).
- `--pr <n>` resolves the run from the PR head sha's CI status target_url.
- `--job <i>` re-runs a single job.
Forgejo exposes no REST endpoint for rerunning a run, so this rides the run
page's web routes (`<base>/<owner>/<repo>/actions/runs/<n>[/jobs/<i>]/rerun`)
via a new `Client::post_web_no_content` (web base like post_json_web, tolerates
the redirect/empty response the rerun handler returns). Mirrors ci-log's
web-route approach + auth path.
docs/tools/forge.md updated with the verb.
Rebuild on forge's own notification read-state instead of the local
seen-cursor mirror (operator-nacked: mirrors state forge owns + drifts
on restart).
- comment refuses to post when forge has an unread notification for the
thread (someone commented since you last read it); --force overrides.
Degrades open if the notification check itself fails.
- comments / view mark the thread's notification read (the "I've seen
it" signal), clearing the guard for a subsequent reply.
- new crate::notify (no local file): unread_thread_id pages repo-scoped
unread notifications (newest-first, capped) + subject-url number match;
mark_thread_read via the new client.patch_no_content.
Pairs with the forge_notify harness change (#1895, merged) that leaves
delivered notifications unread until the agent actually reads. Covers
pr/issue comment too (they delegate to comment::run).
Group issue/PR operations under `pr` and `issue` parent commands
(`hive-forge pr close 42`, `issue create …`, `pr status --pr 42`) per the
operator decision — kind-namespaced verbs replace the flat surface.
- new `verbs::pr_cmd` / `verbs::issue_cmd` parent commands wrap the existing
per-verb modules (reuse their Args + run fns) under `#[command(subcommand)]`.
- kind-validation (the win over the old generic verbs): the generics that work
on both (view/comment/comments/close/labels/assign/timeline) call
`assert_kind` first, so `pr close <issue>` / `issue close <pr>` are rejected
with a 'use the other command' message. PR-only / issue-only verbs are
kind-correct by construction. `number` exposed `pub(crate)` on the shared
verbs so the wrappers can probe it.
- every flat kind verb (`close`, `pr-create`, `pr-status`, `issue-edit`, …)
kept as a `#[command(hide = true)]` back-compat alias — still parses, dropped
from --help; removed in a later sweep once usage migrates. (`pr`/`issue`
bare-show become `pr show` / `issue show` — the names are now parents.)
- docs/tools/forge.md documents the new surface + the deprecated aliases.
cargo build/clippy/fmt clean, 54 tests pass; --help surface + alias parsing
smoke-tested.
`labels <number>` only lists an issue/PR's labels; there was no way to
list the project-wide label set, which triage/labelling needs to discover
valid names. Add `repo-labels [pattern]` hitting GET /repos/{owner}/{repo}/labels
(paginated), with optional name-substring filter. Default prints one label
per line (name + tab-separated description when set); --json emits the full
label objects.
Enable reqwest's rustls-tls-native-roots feature for hive-forge so its
HTTP client validates against the OS/system CA store (rustls-native-certs)
in addition to the bundled webpki roots. Once the hive CA is embedded into
agent system trust stores (via the meta flake's security.pki.certificateFiles
wiring), hive-forge validates the gateway's self-signed leaf with no extra
env plumbing.
Additive: the bundled webpki roots stay enabled, so public CAs still
validate; the native store adds the hive CA. On NixOS the system store
already includes the Mozilla bundle, so the effective trust set is a
superset. Cargo unifies features across the build, so native-root loading
is enabled for every reqwest client — harmless, since it only widens the
root set.
Final piece of the self-signed agent-trust chain (host CA + gateway leaf,
then CA embedded into agent flakes, now the forge client honouring it).
The verb that lists issues/PRs with filters is `list`, but `issues` and
`issue-list` are the names people reach for first — and clap's
"did you mean" tip points at `issue` / `issue-create`, never at `list`.
Two agents independently failed to find it that way.
Add `issues` and `issue-list` as visible clap aliases so the verb is
discoverable under the names people actually type (and they show in
`--help`). No behaviour change; `list` stays canonical.
Forgejo 15 has no REST endpoint to download an Actions artifact — the
only path is the web UI download route, which is keyed by the run's
global id rather than the per-repo run number shown in run-page URLs.
The REST artifacts list route keys off the run number instead, so the
two can't be chained directly.
artifact-get takes the run number (what pr-status surfaces as a CI
context target_url), translates it to the global run id via the REST
runs list by matching each run's html_url tail, then GETs the web
download route with the agent's forge token. Saves the artifact zip to
a path (default /tmp/forge-artifact-<name>.zip) or streams to stdout
with -o -.
The artifact name is percent-encoded into the path. The encoder that
list already used for query-string filters is promoted to a shared
verbs::pct_encode helper so both call sites stay in sync.
Lets an agent pull a CI-built artifact (e.g. a paper PDF) into /shared
without host access.
pr-status and pr-merge both computed 'latest non-comment review verdict per
reviewer' independently (identical oldest-first, COMMENT/PENDING-skipping,
supersede-by-later loop). Extract it to a shared verbs::latest_reviews helper
so the verdict semantics live in one place and can't drift between the
health view and the pre-merge changes-requested gate. Pure dedup, no
behaviour change.
Adds `hive-forge pr-merge <n> [--method merge|rebase] [--keep-branch]
[--force]` wrapping POST /repos/{owner}/{repo}/pulls/{n}/merge, so agents on
the peer-review-and-merge workflow have a CLI path instead of the raw API.
- Methods: merge (default) | rebase. Squash is intentionally not offered.
- Deletes the head branch after merge unless --keep-branch.
- Safe by default: refuses unless the PR is mergeable, CI is not red, and no
review's current verdict requests changes (latest-per-reviewer wins, so a
later approval clears an earlier request-changes). --force overrides and
also sets Forgejo's force_merge.
- New client helper post_no_content for the 200-empty-body merge response.
Clean the legacy backlog so the tracker-tag lint can become a required
gate (mara's warn-during-cleanup -> full-tree-enforcement path). Rewrite
the ~33 real `closes/see #NNN` provenance refs in doc-comments to prose
across hive-forge, hive-c0re, hive-ag3nt, hive-matrix-mcp, hive-sh4re,
and add a `lint:allow` line marker to check-issue-refs.sh for genuine
non-tracker `#<digits>` (a hash-digit heading-detection test input).
Tree is now lint-clean; tracker-tag lint ready to promote to required.
Full `nix flake check` (CI) runs the treefmt formatting derivation. While the
hive-ci runner was offline (#1221), PRs merged without it, leaving 5 files
unformatted: hive-ag3nt/src/web_ui.rs, hive-c0re/src/bin/hivectl.rs,
hive-c0re/src/knowledge.rs, hive-c0re/src/matrix.rs,
hive-forge/src/verbs/attachment_get.rs. `nix fmt` output, pure formatting.
- hive-sh4re: UnreadMatrix gains summary: String field (per-room breakdown)
- hive-matrix-mcp/protocol: add RoomUnread struct + UnreadSummary request
- hive-matrix-mcp/handlers: collect_unread() fetches per-room data;
single-unread rooms include truncated last-message body + sender;
multi-unread rooms carry count only
- hive-matrix-mcp/wake: format_unread_summary() builds wake body from
RoomUnread slice; terse one-liner for single-room/single-message,
bulleted list for multi-room; always appends read-hint
- hive-matrix-mcp/timeline: wake body now covers all rooms with unread
at fire time, not just the triggering event; falls back to per-event
teaser if notification counts haven't updated yet
- hive-ag3nt/mcp: matrix_unread_summary() replaces matrix_unread_rooms();
UnreadMatrix loose end carries per-room summary lines; render shows
room breakdown with sender: body for single-unread rooms
Add `hivectl gateway {create-user,delete-user,list-users}` subcommands for
managing htpasswd files used by gateway Basic auth. Pure Rust bcrypt
(cost 12, $2y$ prefix nginx accepts). No external htpasswd binary required.
Also fix the NixOS module assertion: `cfg.auth ? htpasswdFile` is always
true in the module system (declared options always exist as keys); switch
to `nullOr path; default = null` + `!= null` check so the assertion
actually fires with a useful error when enable=true but no file is set.
Guard bind-mount and nginx config against null to prevent eval errors.
Update docs/gateway.md to show hivectl commands instead of raw htpasswd.
All crates now pass `cargo clippy --workspace -- -D warnings` cleanly.
Fixes span six crates (hive-sh4re, hive-ag3nt, hive-c0re, hive-forge,
hive-priv, hive-matrix-mcp was already clean):
- doc_markdown: wrap snake_case, type names, constants in backticks
- collapsible_if / collapsible_match: fold nested ifs into let-chains
- duration_suboptimal_units: Duration::from_secs(N) → from_mins/from_hours
- implicit_hasher: allow on HashMap-param fns where generalization is risky
- items_after_statements: hoist use to function tops
- map(f).unwrap_or(x) → map_or(x, f); map(f).unwrap_or_else(g) → map_or_else
- is_ok_and / is_none_or in place of map().unwrap_or(bool)
- needless_continue: {} instead of continue in loop match arms
- match_same_arms: Ok(None) | Err(_) merged
- format_push_str: write!() instead of push_str(&format!())
- while let replaces loop { let Some(..) = x else { break } }
- struct_excessive_bools / dead_code: allow on purpose-built structs
- too_many_lines / too_many_arguments: allow where refactor not worth it
- unused_async: remove async from poll_once in bash_runner
- needless_borrow: fix &repo deref in hive-forge comments verb
- cast_possible_truncation: allow u64→usize in fetch_tail

mara: 'those comments seem very redundant'. true — the 16 pure-GET
verbs all got the same 'transport error + stdout I/O' boilerplate,
which just restates the Result<()> contract that's trivially
derivable from the type.
dropped # Errors from: assign, branches, close, comment_show,
comments, diff, issue, labels, lint, list, milestone, pr,
pr_reviews, subscription, timeline, tree_sha, view (17 files).
kept on the 7 verbs that have a non-Forgejo failure surface worth
documenting:
- comment, comment_edit, issue_create, issue_edit — body input I/O
via --body-file / stdin
- pr_create — body input + --push shellout to git
- attach::run_issue, attach::run_comment — explicit bail! on
missing file
net: 23 verbs touched in the original PR → 17 trimmed back to
no-doc, 6 kept (with the 7th call being attach::run_comment in the
same file). 38 tests still pass.
